We're an European gaming community. I don't see the problem really.
I mean, it's great that you want to play from U.S.A. But aren't there plenty servers in your country for your needs (timewise)?
out of every server if seen this is the ONLY server that offers a vanilla style factions pvp. it may be that im just incompitent but out of the many server lists and servers if checked this is the only server that offers faction wars without atleast some big fancy shop with everything.

Well, advertising costs money since we live in a Capitalist society.
Besides asking all your friends and their friends to start to play on this server there isn't that much of an option.
or you could just offer a reasonable reward for voting.

sounds liek a nice idea. you could easily just make the head drop relatively rare so that you dont end up with 50 of some players heads in your inv when you raid.

saturday would help seeming your sunday will be monday for half of us ( saturdays already almost over D:), althouhg i do doubt that this will get changed

first of all il lstart by saying that after rading the shout box i noticed that there is a reset coming. At first i was exited about the reset but then i realised that some other time this month the redstone update is coming, and bringing with it new nether ores that would effectively be missing from the game untill the next reset.
i had an idea.
so i propose that seeming claiming withing the nether is impossible anyway there is not likely to be any base there, that perhaps when this update comes the nether could be reset. then furthermore seeming that the nether is usualy completely ruined (all blaze spawners destroyed ect.) perhaps other times throughout future maps the admin could do other nether resets.

YES but also get rid of prot III. A full suit of prot III gives just as much protection as protection IV.
Also to balance it, Sharp Iv and Sharp V would need to be removed as well.
completely agree with this.
one other thing here tho is that i dont see a need to nerf fire, proj and blast prots as they do little to reduce main combat damage so it doesnt matter if someone wants to spend their time enchanting to avoid being creepered.
edit: seeming that enchants wont be overly powerful perhaps the public end could be removed?

the problem with this "working as a team" is that with the nature of people on the server a large proportion of people on the server will not have people to regularly fight with so the team thing doesnt work. another propblem with the enchanting tower map was that you needed liek 3 people to get the best enchants not so good when youre relying on faction members who are never on.

Today I had a fight on my personal server with a friend, no OP enchants or swords, Just plain health potions and a poison. We were forced to use actual strategy, not rely on our OP enchants for protection. I have to say it was one of the best fights I've done. Man is it satisfying to see your opponent go up in flames from a flint and steel. All in all, OP enchants are kind of dumb.
unfortunately new players wont see this D:
on a reset tho 1.5 is coming, and with this there will be new ores added to the game so perhaps wait for this.
and kitty get over yourself, just that post alone proves that your not admin material, theres plenty of us here that arent dutch and play from all around the world and you dont see us complaining about it.

Honestly I really like the mining spawners idea. It makes enchanting easier for everyone. I see why you guys want to take away OP stuff, but it feels so good to hold a sharp V sword in your hand that you worked so hard for
if you could mine spawners it would just make xrayers, and big facs grinders even more op.

Sure i miss the old fights, fighting with a flint and steel instead of a godsword but personaly enchants gives me something to work towards. Maybe make sharp 3 max and prot 2 or something but keep tool enchants. if the public end went there would be something else to aim for other than just enchanting. On the other hand look at how many people were on the server even in the middle of the duping epidemic, there was sets of god armor everywhere and people were happy, back then there was public end ect, but no anvils so that people didnt have god-god armor rather than just good armor. and more players made it more even because in my opinion most new players wont be to happy about things missing from the game, and seeming as what we need are players thats a problem. Maybe it would be a good idea to set the server like it was back then but increase voting rewards and really push it to get the player base back up.
edit: just a thought, maybe more of the newer players would be willing to vote if they did not require a gc account. you could have the reward pay into a gc account if the player had one but if they didnt the voter could recieve a portion of the reward straight into their inventory.

your being to narrow minded here you dont need to look for an "american" player you just need to look for anyone with a reasonably different timezone, theres an entire other hemisphere to explore there.

I've kept myself out of these kind of discussions for a while since I understand that it's very difficult for Clavus to actually install and keep them all updated with each new minecraft update. May I inform you that even an almost vanilla server like we have runs about 50 plugins ? We can all agree that it's a pain in the arse for the server owner to keep them ALL updated + REdownload all the patches for new minecraft updates. But yes, I do think we need a better voting system and the green coins shop could be improved
Here're my suggestions:
-Voting on all 4 or 5 different links will get you a total of 60 gc + 3 diamonds and a piece of bread or something in game.
-Add additional stuff on which you can spend your green coins (These can be suggested in a thread or topic and maybe the server admins will message the decent ones to Clavus once in a while, in the end Clavus will decide which ones he wants on the server and he doesn't need to read all these threads which are mostly a waste of time for a busy man like him)
tnt and low level enchant books might work if you didnt want to add diamonds so that it addds a bit of spice back into raiding and people might stop complaining about people with maxed enchants.

there was also the problem where when your enchanting the actualy book it steals you xp and gives you a plain book (and reloging doesnt retun the xp)

ADMIN/SEC Officer of another server.
The cause of this chunk reverting was by an admin, have you pissed off any admins?
They used worldedit and typed:
//chunk then //regen
The //chunk command selects the chunk and the regen command regenerates the chunk to it's natural landscape.
THIS is admin abuse.
no as far as i know none of the admins have a problem with me, (then again that cant be said for alot of the players ) if ur saying that it can be done by someone would a hack do the same?

well sif hows your factions base going?
if you want a new one you can have my old one while i still have it ( its missing a chunk but you still get half an obsidian room (2 spawners) and the other stuff that survived

youve been running them for all this time sure. but if you take a good look youl see the server IS dying anyway, so why not comprimise and try doing whhat the players want. sure you might not liek it all that much but all the players are asking for them so it stands to reason that thats what you need to apease the playerbase and maybe get some more players online.

omg sif your still alive i thought you left the server last map. anyway i stil ldont feel like playing particularly unless someone does something to fix the server. maybe if the server was still like it was in the old days i would have the determination to rebuild and remake what i lost but now theres not actualy that much to continue for. (and the way things are going it doesnt apear as if anyone is planning on doing anything to fix the server)

ok so due to certain circumstances, and to encourage pvp iv been dropping some of my personal supplies around the map and will periodicaly drop a new 'package' along with the coords to prevent xrayers gaining an advantage.

And sometimes it isn't admin fault but it's of Bukkit Devolpers fault since they're working on a Recommended Build of 1.4.6(They still on the Development and Beta Build). Maybe some bugs can come out...So don't blame on them.
i never blamed any of the admins for what hapened. the problem is less why it hapened and more thta it did happen.

Also the /spawn command will encourage people to donate for the /cloak command surprising there enemy's before they can go to spawn.
so there will never be a siege again
if there gets /spawn then you will need to be away of enemies for 60 blocks or sth and wait for at least 15 secs.
as long as ti would be 60 blocks AND a timer so that people cant hide inside while someone builds a tnt cannon for the 15 secodns and then go /spawn

ok well there goes the enchants on all my items aswell. iv just lost the rest of my will to play on this server, i might be back next map if the server improves. untill then i will be regularly giving away items from my surviving suplies untill stocks run out.
