Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Heyo nerd! I need your help today. I have GeForce 1060 3Gb videocard and good ram (good but ddr3, not ddr4 ram). This is my babies https://catalog.onliner.by/dram/crucial/bls2cp4g3d1609ds It's 2x4 kit, because as I heard it's better than 1x8Gb. Dual mode it's good, yea? Well, I don't know anything at all, that's why I need your help. By the way ram easily handle 1866 mhz yeap. Well-p, I am drifting a bit.. let's back to the topic. Soooo, I also got shitty AM3+ CPU (AMD FX-4330), which is bottle neck. GTA V cpu loading 100%. And here we getting closer to the main question. How can I upgarde my PC? I dont have much money, so I want to stay with my decent ddr3 ram. Here I selected motherboard and cpu. What do you think about this choice and what you can recommend? https://catalog.onliner.by/cpu/intel/i56500 https://catalog.onliner.by/motherboard/asus/b150prod3 P.S. sure I'll need new motherboard in future to get ddr4 and who knows, maybe new socket, but I don't care yet. P.P.S. onliner.by best site in Belarus to find cheapest prices etc. I guess you can use it with Google translate, hopefully, so if u r bored u can help me choose parts according to price in my country. wooozie Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) gta5 and 100% cpu is pretty standard, and simple answer: you cant. no matter what you do, your cpu will be the bottleneck. maybe get an ssd, but even that wont get you more fps. oh, and the cpu is a good choice, wouldve recommended that as well. get a cheaper motherboard. any x72? will do. more edit: id buy this one https://www.alternate.de/MSI/Z170A-TOMAHAWK-Mainboard/html/product/1216156? 2 m2 slots. Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Meh, it may be 100% but it'll be better with new CPU I guess. Currently my fps is near 40-60 which is not enough for 1060 videocard, I bet. I dont even use max setting, no antialiasing etc. SSD won't help much I believe. CPU is very important man. For example a bit better cpu gave me more fps in kf2 (killing floor 2) and disabling cpu turbo for example made my far cry 4 unplayable (but turbo its only 200 mhz better - 4200 mhz). I am not enough nerd, but from what I know - bottle neck is bottle neck. I need to lower neck if I can't fully get rid of it. Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Here is also PCI-E 2.0, which shouldn't be a big problem honestly, but it could be. Just saying Quote
wooozie Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) simple recommendation: you get what you pay for. if you want better performance, you will have to invest some money. at least you already got a gpu, so just save some money and get at least the 6500 with a Z170 chipset mainboard (you can save some money there, not many people need 3 pcie 3.0 slots, just make sure it has a m2 slot) edit: also wait til after xmas to buy the ram, they always increase and then drop in prices after. Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 M2 for ssd? Why not use SSD with sata 3.0? I want to save money on ram, it's not cheap nowadays (around 100 dollars, my wage is 200, lol crying). B150 chipset should be good and by the way there is no big difference between ddr3 and ddr4 (ddr4 timings sucks) Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Yeah, I need only single PCI-E slot, just did quick research and it was cheapest asus mobo (I want asus and ddr3). Quote
wooozie Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 yeah, its probably enough for a 1060. but sata ssd is 600mb/s max, while m2 can do 3000mb/s. Quote
Guest F1MADKILLER Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 FC4 on my old card if i ran it any higher than low it lagged me to death so prob game and look on like Ebay or Amazon today cybermonday deals in UK Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 By the way currently I have 120 Gb ssd, but my mobo too old lol, so it's connected to sata 2.0 which is only 300 mb/s while ssd can do much more But it's ok even with 300 mb/s. One day I'll buy 512 or 1Tb ssd but not soon. Thanks for advices. I didn't knew anything about M2 before, thought it's old socket, but 3000 mb/s, damn, it's cool yeah. Now I'll know Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 @MADKILLER I can't order anything from another countries because of many reasons. Unbelievable taxes is one of the main reasons. On the other hand is long delivery and it's cheaper to buy here. Quote

Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) I don't care since miniATX is same as ATX but with less textolite Edited November 28, 2016 by AleksCore Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) MiniATX fit to ATX case Edited November 28, 2016 by AleksCore Quote
wooozie Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 guess youre not very audiophil, cause matx boards have the shitties onboard sound ever. Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) I am not audiophile, I am listening music using cheapest headphones and Android smartphone. And for PC I also use cheap headphones or pretty average old speakers ATX mobos have Realtek ALC887 and miniATX Realtek ALC887-VD2. I will Google difference, hopefully it's the same Well, it should be ok for me. Googled Edited November 29, 2016 by AleksCore Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Lol, this one Realtek ALC887-VD2 even better than Realtek ALC887 from Atx one ha Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Currently using same audiocard. Look at my potato mobo lol https://catalog.onliner.by/motherboard/gigabyte/ga780td3l Quote
wooozie Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 oh well, i stand corrected. but onboard audio on a tiny motherboard cant be fuckin good. Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 It'll be good enough for any average listeners (not audiophile). And I am pretty sure soundboard is absolutely the same as in Atx version. I am deaf (musically) and I listen only breakdowns and screams mostly so it's good for me. Lol. Sorry, I'll never understand audiophiles until somebody give me decent devices for a week to listen and compare difference Quote
Guest AleksCore Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Well, I am also skeptical about mATX. I'll look for ATX one better Quote
wooozie Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 well, even atx boards have the problem of circuits runnin across the board, which warrants electrical interference (not good for audio), so i imagine its even worse on matx boards. Quote
