The lag is a joke, if you can't run 40 slots. Reduce the server slots to actually make the server run slightly?
Too many rollbacks are being done. Even one this week.
Also, the spam guard is not efficient AT ALL. All these unbans could have been reduced to 3-4 instead we have players that have to make an unban topic because of system failure.
Also, the "we need more admins" is nothing we as a community should argue about. Admins should only be titled this rank if they obtain it.
By the way what is combat tag? Sounds effective, but how does it work? Why was it removed (has it even been removed)?
We need more awareness of fair-play. The combatlogging is a joke. At least it has gotten better (2-3 maps ago you could literally not fight).

In my opinion, which I'm sure many will disagree with, minecraft.nl needs a re-think. Server hosting is expensive, and at the end of day l4g is paying to host a fairly expensive server that:
1) Doesn't appeal to its forum members at all
2) Barely brings in revenue
3) Is a pain to moderate, both in game for admins who no longer like playing the game AND with people posting complaints on the forums which seems to annoy the normal forum users and clog up the feeds (Although this problem of unban request threads has died down lately imo)
If its going to be hosted it should at LEAST appeal to the actual l4g users, instead of making a load of ''whiney kids'', if peoples donations/Clavus' money is going to be wasted on paying for a service that its users hate. Otherwise it should just be shut down, its burning money
Take the mc project i'm working on for example. Im trying to make that so people will enjoy playing it, the normal PC gamer, not just annoying people, by actually ASKING people what they want to see in the game. Whereas on .nl it very much seems just an endless cycle of the same game with the same problems and it gets very boring. It needs a re-vamp in the same way that ZS is getting re-done!
While I say this, I know the top crew are busy with stuff and are highly unlikely to do anything new with it anyway. Like I said, its just my opinion
SOME hate the service, some doesn't that's why the server is at 40/40 all the time even at night time.
The problem really comes down to moderating. I don't think people even realize what combat logging is. It hasn't been clarified what it is AT ALL. Also, I am fairly sure many of the users in minecraft know that combat logging isn't allowed.
Also, what I've seen Corby is the ONLY active admin in minecraft. Well, he has become more inactive now. So that means a lot of bullshit can go around. Yes, you could say I should record, but do you know how boring it is to make all those records? It is fine to record cheaters, np there.. but I get to the point sometimes where I have to record combat loggers, because they simply try to kill you in invincible mode.
I don't know what should be done really, and you just can't pick up regular guys to be moderators. So many factors come to play.
Oh btw, I know it isn't the right forum but, I saw that it lagged so much less when it was 35/40. Could we try this? I hate playing in the lag. I'd rather have 35 slots than 40 slots.

Spamguard is way too buggy. You get kicked for writing f unclaim 3 times in a row. The spam system was good with last one (before the update).

As far as I understand it, you can't pussy out during a fight. Whether logging in instantly or logging in 10 minutes later.
Thats thin ice, it depends on the situation.
I've seen cases where hes banned people for doing that, and then a lot of times where hes not because its not technically combat logging if you're just running away and log out.
So - I'd say - as long as you aren't doing it to give you an invulnerability perk, arent doing it excessively and are just doing it to get away, then its okay. Clever people will put down lava or trap them or something anyway. But dont quote me on that..
I see no difference from running away and logging out and from attacking another person and logging out.
Also, lava trap is easy avoidable. It's not necessarily a clever move, we do it if we bother.
You can easily escape it, as you even mention with your invincible perk.

Hello! I am new to the minecraft.nl server and the Left4Green community! I was looking on the web for fun fighting servers for minecraft and I found minecraft.nl! I was wondering if anyone could mentor me about the forum and the servers! I also need to learn a little bit more about minecraft, since im sort of a new player! I really want to fit in here. Also, is there any factions that would let me join them? I really want to join a faction so I can build and fight.

Hi and welcome,
as you might know most of the good and popular factions don't invite anyone they don't know, this makes them so good.
These factions got only irl friends or really good friends they've known for a long time.
That's why I suggest you start your own faction with some of your irl friends (if you don't got irl friends that play mc you'd get good friends with a member from a good faction = Scourge,Rangers,Realism,Basscanon,...)
You'd build your base far from enemies but not to far so you can start raiding in a later stage.
As a base I suggest a cool version of a watercube, these are extremly safe but also extremely lame so that's why you'd best make another shape then a silly cube.
From that point on it's mining, getting potions enchanting getting allies and after that the fun begins.
Start teaming up with your allies and go raid some noobs, 1/2 raids will give you loot and 1/7 epic loot.
While you are raiding you must face that there is a possibility to die, so don't start combatlogging when you fear you r gonna die cause this might get you banned.
If you think the fight isn't fair just logg of and come back in 10 minutes.

first i got kicked for writing in caps, ye my fault but so tempting..
then i stopped writing in caps, and some people wanted to fool around at our base. So I attacked the enemies and wrote f home, it said* spam 1/3 warning
did it 3 times, because i wanted to get back home. Got kicked, so I joined and repeated f homing, until I got banned......

When I did /dynmap cloak it said I would be banned if I did it again.
when I enemied two people, it didn't say anything so I thought the "spamming" was over. I try to /dynmap cloak and get banned...
Can you at least turn the STAB off now that it is so instable, getting really bored of it.

Was in minecraft today, typed /who earlier when the server just started. I got kicked for that. Only typed it twice.
Joined again, typed another command for something can't remember, got kicked again.
Typed /dynmap cloak just recently, hadn't even spoke in a while and got banned for spam.
Don't forget to put the following things in your ban appeal:
1. ruCsan
2. Jan 2nd 2012
3. minecraft.nl (minecraft)
4. The bot banned me
5. Got banned for spam apparently, even though it wasn't.
6. The system is kicking/banning for wrong reasons, I think it's laggy.

The End and The Nether should remain a wild west of sorts. Portal claiming was annoying. Too bad about the blaze rod thing but it doesn't change a thing.
clavus could you please check out the server suggestions thread ?
I've combined a lot of suggestions in one clear message and corby approved most of them.
Can you might ad some of those to the server with the next update or next map ?

That was sadly the first time I combat logged. And it was due to the fact I went from full diamond armour with protection enchantments and fire resistance to no armour in about 4 seconds. I'm all for equality on the battlefield - ask Spartans. I sat there and drowned, giving them a hell of a lot better stuff on than I had that day without logging. Because I do not believe in it. I didn't relog and run and log out a lot. I simply logged off and asked Corby to investigate the logs to see if you were giving speed hack warnings or anything of the like.
Another thing I don't believe in is the rewarding of hackers. I don't believe you should get the things I worked for to raid from Angels when you speed hack up to me and start attacking with your all powerful sword. Combat has never taken less than a minute on this server when both in full dia. Even when I have had my epic sword on me, and all the buff potions you can desire.
I don't particularly understand your issues with my vault. Is it against the rules to have one? Matched with the fact that, as it's only just been built it has some spare construction mats used to build it and nothing else. I dont see how it's relevant.
As for the stuff about Corby. I implore you all to go and research some more. You cannot spawn enchanted items. You cannot spawn potions. Yes you can spawn items, but it removes the need to raid on the game - which is this server's USP. Why would we bother? Rangers came to power long before Corby was admin. And before that time instead of admin abuse, people always just tried to call us hackers. Now you kids have another avenue to rationalise your inability to create a secure base, and you over use it like a two dollar whore.
For you all to say you wouldn't allow an admin to be in a faction, how would you expect the server to be administrated? There would be no admin online to handle abuse. Because look at the facts - The server is faction wars. Creative mode building gets real boring real quick. All the other administrators that are/were in the non attacking faction never play.
This server's community is honestly tiring. Yesterday Corby and I spent a good portion of time we'd normally spend playing on L4G, looking for a new server. If we could find one similar to this one - we'd be out of your hair for a while. Hopefully in our absence you'll enjoy the server you wanted. No raiding factions. No administration. Just happy go lucky build time with the architectural skill of an inebriated otter.

Finding a new server, like the left4green. is 1. almost impossible, 2. the same would happen anyways.
