Project: ZS Maps Remake

Hello everyone, no glorious intro like map progressions. Just to the point. I am now planning on doing a little SDK project which is to remake maps that are played often that are not really good and turn them into enjoyable new things. The map that I wanted to give a make-up the most had to be zs_woodhouse_rain. Horrible displacements, bad trees, bad house design and hardly any or no starting zombie defence.

I have turned it into something similar to greenie_lounge using the same theme and made it pretty to look at.

You should be able to tell the difference from new version and old. I hope.

You might notice 2 rusty ugly looking pipes at z spawn. Those are cannons that launch you towards the house, swift transportation that discourages humans to run outside as they will get blasted with zombies.

It is the same stupid idea like with mines.

Also the design you made. I'd rather keep original.

What other maps do you plan to remake? :)

I dont exactly know yet, but it will probably be one of the maps that gets played often and is not really good, at the moment I am working on 4 zs maps, 1 of which is an objective map. That remake only took me 1 day so if I do decide to make another one soon I can easily fit it into my mapping project time.

Make an Amish village map, with the howler being hanged above a fire. :)

Lol, could make that map a special gamemode, amish weapon only :P and every1 is an old man withg huge beard and dungarees and an amish hat. Pitchforks, rakes, hoes and bows an arrows XD

zs_seige_v1 -> zs_siege_reborn

This room was always used to barricade. I totally changed it and did things that the people who know this map will greatly appreciate.

This morning I spent a handfull of hours remaking another well known and popular map on the server. zs_jail_v1 ---> zs_greenie_jail

There is still a ton of retexturing and light changing work to be done. A got a couple more areas left that have been untouched. Zombie spawn has been moved into the mental facility area and humans will spawn in the prison cell area.

greenie woodhouse one is a mess. I will have to fix it and make it actually good in the future

Lighting has been tweaked and I have been improving overall design and finishing textures up. Im making the map feel like a more modern prison. I am also building a new area which is where the guards are meant to be located at. Im thinking the whole idea through like it would be in real life. An example for that would be that im adding secure areas for where the guards are meant to be, and areas for where the prisoners should be around.

Now that I know how the gameplay of the map works after playing multiple times on the server I am doing a major upgrade and a touch of horror to the map. I am also doing some other big changes that players will appreciate.

I have been learning some horror that I can import into future maps, this will be the first.

After an insane amount of time doing light work.

Now I just need to start importing the new horror light and textures to the rest of the areas and relook props.

Final update for the day. Mog was bossing me around telling me what to change to the lights but it does look much better now.

Only 2 problems is that some of the ceiling props ( vents,pipes ) are pure black and some of the cells are pure black. I know how to fix it and I will do so tomarrow.
