I always found it really hard to cover any sort of large area with lava on the server. The tick rate means lava spread is just straight up retarded. Though in theory you'd just need a sequence of blocks spaced in a pattern with source blocks on top:

+ + + +
 + + + +
+ + + +

The lava flow in each cardinal direction would create a mesh. But it would take a) A shit ton of lava and A shit ton of time.

So I'm calling hack client/glitch.
