terminator Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 What are the new features on windows 8 can any one enlighten me?Do not really have the need for a new OS right now unless it is greatly superior to window 7 but i highly doubt that.... Quad_Tube 1 Quote
Reap3r Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Yeah but you aren't obliged to use it, I am using the windows 7 desktop and only go to metro start menu when I need to check my mail/weather or search for a file. Not to mention there are gonna be mods that will remove it.For me, 8 is the XP, though it uses thrice more ram.Edit1: Here ya go term,http://www.zdnet.com/windows-8-vs-windows-7-benchmarked_p2-7000002671/http://www.techspot.com/review/561-windows8-vs-windows7/page5.htmlhttp://www.google.com Edited September 7, 2012 by Reap3r Quote

MrZunz Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I wonder how many of you guys actually used it before you start screaming (it's) poop. Yes there might be a different screen which you may or may not like, that's personal preference, but other than that it's still functioning better than windows 7 (boot time for example). I'm using windows 8 to develop with on my laptop and althought I'm quit a microsoft whore I'm pretty much pleased about it. But I guess it's cool to join the anti-hype bandwagon. Starting from SecureBoot (which has its good sides tho) to the interface itself. Altho only reason why I am using Windows is games mainly Quote

CyriusG Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Windows 8 would be a great OS because it have some really nice new features but everything is dragged down by the UI formerly known as Metro. Luckily I've seen several programs that brings back the start button but programs like this shouldn't be necessary. I hope that Microsoft realize that it was a mistake to remove the start button and brings it back in a future update or at least make the user chose between having the normal start button or the UI formerly known as Metro.
