House

Hey guise,

I modeled and textured a house in 3DsMax. I used basic shapes and some Unwrap UVW for it. The textures are quite fucked because the relative resize is a failure.

It is a house with no doors (I was planning on making some simple doors/windows on the texture but was too hard in Photoshop for just a simple test).

Comment and feedback and tips are welcome. :P

Pretty good start. Texturing is something that really takes some time before you get the hang of it.

I had trouble with them for a while as well, for example:

Although it's getting better now, I still feel like proper texturing is one of the harderst part of modeling sometimes.

Thanks for comment. :V And I see what you mean and I should use another yes, but I guess what it causes to look weird is the roof (combined with that sharp edge), because that's not how it would ever look in real. Also the sizes of the objects in pic #2 are wrong resized, that's why the roof texture is fucked / not recognizable.

Thanks. :P

Do you think I can get that .max file? :o I'd love to practice on that one.

It's downloadable here: http://mayco.mr-green.nl/modeling.php

That reminds me, I haven't updated that page for ages :V

Also, I could probably fix the PS3 model now, but I have no use for it.

That's pretty good one Math. I am just starting with UVW wrapping/proper texturing.

Pufulets version is bit worse than Mathemtic's one. But it's made in Hammer, so it cant get as cool as one made in proper 3d editor :>

I had to do it over because I installed 2009 (which is better than 2012 in most cases).

Though I wonder why unwrap uvw sometimes doesn't apply my shit when switching back to editable poly/mesh. :o

Another one I made. It's hard to model everything according to the reference pics sometimes..
