My computer is a product of endlessly upgrading components (started in 2008 or so), so that RAM has pretty much been there forever
(Incidentally, I'm considering purchasing this).

Exactly. You just need to use it during the activation @ Origin.
Oh nuts... I want home... Nauuuuuuuuw! I did know its only needed when activating, but i thought it just connects to korean(asian) servers then after that...
Gotta wait other 6 hours to get home and activate it. Hope my computer can run it on high settings :shrug:

Activated it using the built-in Windows proxy, very simple.
The game really looks fantastic. I'm playing it at ultra (HD6970, Intel QX9770, 4GB RAM) and it's really playable. Granted, it's not a constant 60 FPS, but I don't think it drops below 30 much.
So far it's simply a great game, although a bit frustrating so every now and then.

So what's the deal with the Korean VPN activation stuff? Some people say you'll be stuck with Korean servers when you do it, others say EA doesn't actually care.
I'd like to play some BF3 tonight, but not if it means I have to play with Koreans and a ping of 300+.
You can join servers that are in europe without being connected to a VPN, no lag, just awesome gameplay.
Oh, so basically the person that said "You can only play in Korean servers" simply forgot to turn off his VPN?

Looks like a good game, though I'm personally not very excited. The first two games were good quality/gameplay-wise, but it doesn't really excite me for some reason.

Caspian Border is fantastic. Operation Métro is okay, but it really doesn't show the potential Battlefield 3 has.
Too bad about the lag though.

How do you guys like that SSD? It seems fairly cheap for a 128 GB one. Last time I checked not every SSD performed that well, plus not all of them were stable (I think OCZ SSD's had some problems, for example).

Germany and their silly censoring laws. They're even screwing adults over with shit like that. If you work a nightshift somewhere you can't download it, and I can imagine you have something better to do than download a game at 11 PM.

Got my hands on the SKIDROW release just now. Played it a bit, and seems like a fantastic game (although the AI is retarded). Definite buy.

I never played the first one, but it looks interesting. I really enjoy games like ArmA II, and I read somewhere that this is pretty much the ArmA of WWII. Is this true/can anyone recommend it?

I'm afraid one single player can't get someone "de-adminized", unless that admin did some serious admin abuse. I understand you were spamming and evading CarPileUp's mute/gag. You had a previous ban for pretty much the same reasons, and then you decided to go on the forums and make an ass of yourself.
CarPileUp made his decision. If you feel like it's unjustified, feel free to make an unban request in the unban forums. Make sure to fill in the forms properly and (for your sake), don't use childish insults or make outrageous claims.

We'll figure out if the reason CarPileUp banned you is legitimate (which it probably is). The admins being "shitheads" is just your rage-filled opinion, because you got banned.
Getting a "refund" for the time you were banned is probably the most ridiculous thing I've heard all week, and you probably know that as well.
The other thread won't be unlocked, but I'll leave this open for a short while. Though if it turns into a shitstorm it'll be closed in no-time.

If you want to apply for admin, use the proper forms. If you have something to settle with CarePileUp, try to do it in proper way and not with useless insults.

Alright, that makes sense.
What I'm trying to make you realize is that, even in the comfort of your own home, you can still endlessly annoy people by being WAY too passionate about your hobby. Like I said, the majority of L4G users either doesn't care or hates MLP. Because the MLP fans rub it in our face with both their avatars and random MLP threads, we start flaming you and you start flaming back.
I really don't give a crap about what your hobbies are, but I'd prefer it for the sake of everyone that you just kept it all to yourself. If you'd be passionate about something original or interesting, then it would be thread worthy, this is not.

Math's thread is closed/gone/whatever, so that doesn't count anymore. On a forum you can't expect a thread to be used by just 3 people, that's not why it's a discussion board.

Pretty good start. Texturing is something that really takes some time before you get the hang of it.
I had trouble with them for a while as well, for example:

Although it's getting better now, I still feel like proper texturing is one of the harderst part of modeling sometimes.
Do you think I can get that .max file?

I'm probably going to buy the RAM kit I mentioned today. But you know how it goes between me and PC's, and my current configuration has been running solid for months. Not sure if I want to risk it
