  1. "Don't mention it, dicksucker." is what you mean. Don't leave out that poor comma!
  2. http://bans.left4green.com/index.php?p=banlist&searchText=STEAM_0:1:14478221&Submit 1. Your ingame name: Mr.Layer (Mrs.Layer at the time of ban) 2. Date of your ban: 10/04/2010 @ 2:56 server-time. 3. Who banned you (only if you know who): Auto-ban. 4. Reason why you got banned (only if you know why): KAC: ConVar snd_show violation 5. Reason why we should unban you: I got a new soundcard the other day, so I've been playing with my TF2 settings to try a perfect sound set up. Anyway, I was messing around in console looking at all the sound settings prefixed with snd_ and dsp_. I came across snd_show, typed in snd_show 1 to see what it did, it basically told me what sounds were playing in the game, for example footsteps_dirt.wav (or someting similar), every sound the game outputs. Didn't really help my configuration of sound settings so I was about to turn off it, seeing as I just died in game, and the server permabanned me. I was not aware the command was a violation of any server rules, I wasn't even aware what it was for when I turned it on. It didn't require sv_cheats which gave me no reason to suspect it as a malicious setting. Unban me pls. <3
  3. Look at your own steam profile. You've been VAC banned, how were you even playing on the servers? I thought all Mr.Green servers were VAC protected.
  4. I run a custom fan config to keep my card cool. Usually never tops 65. Safe temps really depend on the card; but generally, anything up to 95C is what'd be expected with for air cooling. With water cooling, you should probably start worrying if your GPU is getting anything above 50C.
  5. I'd be up for some extra maps on Arena. Valid point regarding 60% of the players would leave on a mapchange, but there's custom maps on the other servers...and they work. One or two custom maps is fine IMO... As long as they're great maps. 60% of the players will leave, 40% will carry on to try this new map. That 40% will hopefully like it, and then in another game some of those people who've played the map previously might join another 40% of players who haven't played the map. I think the maps we should try would be arena_harvest_v2 and arena_lighthouse_rc. Harvest because it's an official map ported over, thus it's a name thats recognisable; and Lighthouse because it's a map that I think would work well on Arena (I've played it before on PropHunt).
  6. Gameserver: TF2... Mainly CP/CTF and Payload. Hardly play Arena anymore and pretty much never play Koth. Age: current: 17 at the time of posting. Country of origin: England. Link to SteamCommunity profile *: http://steamcommunity.com/id/rjackson Little something about your self and why you think you're fit to be admin: I've toyed with the idea of applying before, but decided not to as I'm not heavily involved in the forum nor IRC; I am however quite often found on the servers. I study "IT Practitioners, Software Development" along with Error 401 at York College. I've been involved in computers / general tech for a while now. Myself and Mr. 401 and another associate are expanding an existing company into the art of PC Building (in the UK and need anything, let us know. ). Doing which I shall be expanding my knoweledge and skills away from the 'software' side of things, and into the hot, sexy, dirty hardware side... The kind of side where you get to "liquid cool her internals", and "bump her frontside bus"; and where any hardware related innuendo is regularly expressed and appreciated. Any way, on to my experience in running game servers / administrating thems... A few of you may be aware of the game "Sourceforts"... It's a pretty fun game that I have stopped playing due to the people on it being insanely stressful (from an admins perspective)... I was an admin on "Xenon Servers" - the top servers in Sourceforts, getting my admin there after just 2 weeks of playing and offering my assistance in running the servers. I had been an admin there for well over a year dealing with the most arrogant, the most idiotic and the most stressful players to have ever entered the 'internet'. Having dealing with such players and keeping the servers clean and fun for all it's no doubt my actions had been disputed over and over again; throughout any disputes the admin team and server owner of Xenon Servers continually backed up my decisions, and if I head back to that game now, I expect I will still have admin access and will still be trusted 100% with the task of administration. I play a lot of TF2, and a lot of the time on your servers... You may have noticed I tend to get a bit annoyed at times... This is probably a psychological trait generated from administrating on SourceForts... However, even during such outbursts of "unhappiness" I never take any administrative action against any player for personal reasons. I only take action if a player is breaking any server rules, or making the game an unpleasant experience for anybody in game. I hope a few people on these forums recognise me from TF2 and have been educated into this little insight to 'me', and I trust you'll make your decision wisely and fairly, as you would any other player (new or old to the server). Muchos Loveos, Mr Layer.
  7. meh, donator hax are relatively dissapointing: They dont seem do exist. ah well, least I contributed.
  8. where the socks do I donate, I want t3h donat0r h4x.
  9. Well on another server I played on, they implemented this and it ended up always being clan-stacks... Not exactly 'fun' for regular pubbers. Still. If you ain't winning you need to revise your strategy together. It's called "Team" Fortress after all. One team: A group of friends experienced in TF2 and 1-2 pubbers. Other team: 3-4 players new to the game, another 2 players killwhoring, then 1-2 players wanting to work as a team. My point is, the teams should be an even mix of experienced and new players, and the best way at doing that is to have it randomly assign, and switch over players if need be.

  11. As the title says, have Arena to randomly assign players. It's much more fun that way and prevents team stacking. Also allow the server to equal out the teams to keep the gameplay fun and interesting. Arena's used to be fun before, an update unlocked the new cvars which have been set on Mr.Green's Arena, but I think it would be much better if those cvars were set to pre-update settings. The inspiration for this post was from playing 2 games on the arena server, both games being on the team with 0% wins.
  12. hey that cranetop map sucks balls, please get rid of it. it managed to empty a full 32player game to just 20players t'other day, which pretty much shows people dislike it. tyty
