Hmmmmmmm, why not. A pic of a me and a bunch of friends at oxford a month or so back. Note: I'm the exceedingly "vampiric white" guy on the left. Not the one staring at the camera as if he's in math class. And yes, that is how pale I am. No, there was no flash Q.Q EDIT: God I look like a total creeper in that pic.

The Goal isn't to be able to escape zombies using teleport. Teleporting would be used out of combat, and would help with being able to escape camping spots without going out the main door. For example, on cbble, you could teleport through the window instead of going down the ladder and being killed instantly. The teleport is supposed to have a long targeting time for this very reason, so you cant instantly teleport back to base after you grab all the babies. In other words, once you're out of the base, good luck getting back in. Note that this class isn't supposed to have much firepower, as its focus is to kill babies and drive back the infected. Give it any more firepower and you have another version of support. And it indeed already has an MP5. Yeah, the name sucks. I couldn't think of anything better. My goal with the stats is to make it so it can take less damage in speed mode. Its designed to be a hit and run class. Kill the babies, run away, repeat. Also, remember, as I stated earlier: I'm just brainstorming ideas for VMR, as hes the one actually designing the class. Don't go too hard on me for the balance, I'm just giving general numbers on what I think they should be. I should have probably just changed all of the numbers in that post to x's. If you would, could you also respond to my reasons why I disagree? Because, not being rude here, they do still stand. And I do realise it's not to escape the zombie horde, but the time is still frustratingly long. I was using that as an extreme example of how long 6 seconds can be in a fast-paced game like Infected Wars.

I don't play ZS, and I don't know these issues. I do know, however, that Pufulet is dependable and trustworthy. I support this.

You really have no idea how much this means to me. Even reading through this post made me grin like an idiot. It's so nice to know that a writer who's actually going to be getting their book published (or, so I would assume from your language) enjoys the story of my writing. Make sure to tell me the name of your book once it's out, as I'd love to have a read of it!

I still prefer my idea. In my opinion, luck has not place in Infected Wars. A behemoth should be able, in my opinion, to kill a human in 2-3 shots. This makes him scary, a moving threat. Your idea would not make the Behemoth much happier, as he'd notice little difference, and would make the players far more frustrated. As a rethink of my idea: The same thing but it disables armor mode for 2 second (subject to falloff with splash) instead of disabling all regen.

How close are you to it? There was a minecraft update a while ago that was designed to stop mob farms. Now you need to be at a sweet-spot between too close and too far. Personally, I think that was a great update.

Infected wars is an extremely fast paced game. Next time you're being swarmed by zombies make sure to stand still for 6 seconds, this will give you an idea of just how long 6 seconds can be, as it's easier to lose track of time when playing games. And by 4 seconds to kill a baby, do you mean I have to be within range of it for that time? If so then it's a highly inefficient weapon. Having said that, the same is true even if it's just a 4 second delay between use and destruction. In fact, the suit loss is enough to make anyone just use a satchel charge of a knife instead. Furthermore, you are proposing we have a mobile class constantly behind enemy lines, yet you give it no true firepower. A class like this will easily get singled out and killed within moments of entering infected areas. I'd say that because it lacks any weapon it wouldn't even be able to take a bones in a head-to-head battle. I propose giving it the Assault's normal shotgun, or possibly an MP5, instead of the baby killer.

I couldn't agree with VMR more. Ever since the meat rocket launcher bug got fixed the Behemoth has been almost a complete joke. I still like my idea off disabled energy regen for 2 (subject to drop-off) seconds after impact. This will allow good Behemoths to shine while keeping him consistent and balanced. To put things into perspective, I change class whenever I get Behemoth. He's that unenjoyable at the moment. :/

VMR, pistols are hit-scan weapons.
-
I'd disagree on that point about a pistol needing more skill. Hit-scan does not, in my opinion, need more skill than physics based weapons.
-
Yep. See what I mean? I sorta agree. Maybe the behemoth needs a pistol as well? A decent player can almost always survive a behe going solo. Instead of that; I believe now he needs either more damage, higher splash damage with a greater radius, more movement speed, or a mixture of the three. I personally enjoy Behemoth's tank feel. Nah. The only thing that makes playing behemoth irritating atm is that humans can easily regenerate enough to withstand the next shot during the reloading time for the meatcannon. By introducing a pistol the behemoth could fill in that otherwise dead time with shooting the guy, putting more preasure on the human. I believe this is the only change that's needed. edit: Rui is still being crazy. Maybe make it so the meat launcher disables regeneration for a short time? Say 2 second on a direct hit, then falling off with splash?
-
Thanks! But what do you mean by you understood it all? I mean, I wanted people to understand it. Goal achieved, i guess?

I meant the speed at which it does it is rather unsettling. I understand that zombies must use team work, yet I believe the human must as well. When a support can, and often will, jump out into a crowd of zombies and mow them down I do find that a bit odd. But I will need to wait until I have the Ares again to make an accurate assessment. As for the Behemoth's damage, I believe that it needs to feel more powerful and important. Right know it's more satisfying to hit a player with an infection ball than it is to hit him with a Behemoth shot. I've had around 15-20 Behemoth games since the change and he just doesn't feel strong. I feel more like a support than a heavy-weight tank zombie.
-
Thanks a bunch! I'd post a story i've already written as well; but it's something like 90,000-100,000 characters long and very, very depressing.
-
the point of a zombie is to die within moments of seeing anything, not just the ares, young grasshopper. It's how easily the support can rip up the likes of the Behemoth, as well. On that note, did you alter Behemoth damage when you removed the meat cannon insta-kill bug? I'm finding it much harder to kill people now, even when not directly hitting them. The other day I was chasing Rui as behemoth; I landed 2 direct meat rocket hits, 2 hits with close-up splash damage, and a crowbar hit. He survived with low HP, granted, but I don't see how.
-
If you're one in a million, doesn't that mean there are 5,000 people just like you?
-
Well, first things first; I had no idea where in the world to put this. I noticed Rui had put his own little story on here, and since they are called the language arts I think I should take my chances. This is a story I'm posting and updating a couple of forums. Due to the fact that I dislike the fonts on most forums, assuming they even have different fonts, I will be posting only the first chapter on the actual thread. Anything past the first chapter will be on a downloadable .doc file from Mediafire. I apologise for using them, but I find them to be the lesser of all evils. So, without further ado, allow me to post the link. Currently on Chapter: 3. (DOWNLOAD) One last time, I recommend that you download it and read it. It'll be easier reading with the download than it will be here.

Actually, here are the stats: ARES SHRIKE: SWEP.Primary.Sound = Sound("weapons/m249/ares_shrike-2.wav") SWEP.Primary.Recoil = 3.2 SWEP.Primary.Unrecoil = 9 SWEP.Primary.Damage = 17 SWEP.Primary.NumShots = 1 SWEP.Primary.ClipSize = 100 SWEP.Primary.Delay = 0.09 SWEP.Primary.DefaultClip = SWEP.Primary.ClipSize * 3 SWEP.Primary.Automatic = true SWEP.Primary.Ammo = "ar2" SWEP.Primary.Cone = 0.05 SWEP.Primary.ConeMoving = 0.14 SWEP.Primary.ConeCrouching = 0.035 M16a4: SWEP.Primary.Sound = Sound("weapons/m16a4/m16a4-1.wav") SWEP.Primary.Recoil = 1.5 SWEP.Primary.Unrecoil = 11 SWEP.Primary.Damage = 19 SWEP.Primary.NumShots = 1 SWEP.Primary.ClipSize = 30 SWEP.Primary.Delay = 0.09 SWEP.Primary.DefaultClip = SWEP.Primary.ClipSize * 5 SWEP.Primary.Automatic = true SWEP.Primary.Ammo = "ar2" SWEP.Primary.Cone = 0.045 SWEP.Primary.ConeMoving = 0.1 SWEP.Primary.ConeCrouching = 0.024 M16a4 does 2 more damage, has less than half as much recoil, and is slightly more accurate. They both have the same rate of fire. Only bonus to Ares is the extra ammo. Strange, then I'm not sure what it might be. I still feel that the Ares is extremely powerful. I have only been on the receiving end of it since the nerf, so I can't give an accurate judgement. But I still notice myself dying within moments to the Ares. I think its ability to spam is what make it so good in this case.

So basically, the ability to twoshot any human? Also, ares isn't OP. With it's high damage and rate of fire, allowing it to easily make swiss from zombies at a choke point, I really would say it is. Assault and Support are the main firepower for Special Forces. They're supposed to have the heavy weapons. I prefer Assault Master over Support. Higher accuracy, faster reload time, and a shotgun. However, assault master also has a much lower clip and much less damage per shot while also having a far lower rate of fire. Assault is, as I said earlier, a Jack of all trades. However it's better to be good at tearing apart anything that comes through a doorway than it is to do well at harming things coming through doorways. Then harming them a bit more when they get closer. And my point is the Ares is too much firepower.

This is unfortunately true for all of the Support's weapons. Support, as a class, just sucks his base ammo supply dry within the first few minutes of the game. As for assault, I don't find it as bad as it's made out to be. If you single out an assault then he's going down, whereas an Ares support will just mow down the whole crowd. You get assault for his versatility and reliability more than you do for his damage. (he's got long range, mid range, close range, large number of shots to fire off between his shotgun and his assault rifle.) No, this would simply be frustrating for human players. Zombie survival is meant to be a few powerful people pit against a massive horde of weak creatures. When even one of those creatures becomes as powerful as a human, but without the setback of permanent death, then players are going to get frustrated. Furthermore the kill 3 humans in one life as stalker achievement is bad enough, let alone kill 20 humans in one round. I strongly oppose the 3 kill stlaker achievement, as I'm sure you're all aware.
