Dusty Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 As many of you have probably heard, there has been a boycott of the UK's singles chart, specifically a battle to get the Christmas No.1.This started all in spite of the X-Factor, and Simon Cowell, who consistantly get the Christmas #1. This year the X-"Fag"tor released, "The Climb" by the winner of the singing competition, Joe McElderry. To break the monotony, a Facebook group started in order to 'take over' the charts with the song "Killing In The Name Of" by Rage Against The Machine. They chose this song for the lyrics, "Fuck you, I won't do what ya tell me" - Which felt appropriate with the situation. All in all, a fierce battle has occured over the past few weeks, and a few hours ago the results were released. With Rage Against The Machine successfully taking the charts by storm and claiming Christmas #1.Fuck you, I won't do what ya tell me! Quote
