Half Life/Gmod Error. Help.

This error keeps coming up every day pretty much. It crashes my garrys mod and just screws everything up... anyone know what the hell this means? It would be great if I knew what this was.. Thanks

i have no idea, but maybe you have too many background programs running?

i normaly get messages like that when too much stuff is happening at once

Did you already try to clean your GMod and/or reinstall it?

Installing vista is supposedly the only fix for this, suprisingly.

I had the same problem with HL2 and css sometime ago..

couldn't fix it, so I stopped playing.

Then I bought a new computer (this one) and now it works fine

I was going to get windows 7 at one point.. but ive found out that its coming out in 2010 so... fuck that.

In Steam Right click on Garrys Mod -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of game cache. It will take a while, but I don't think it will help either. But maybe it's worth a try?

There is no solution it just happens, luckily with vista that problem isn't there [but other problems are ].

As i said, Vista is the only solution, but that brings in ram loss and then, a loss in fps, and graphics support.

Ending tasks like firefox before playing helps.

Get the windows 7 beta, install 7 drivers where possible, otherwise vista drivers with compatability on vista. Now you have the advantages of vista, but not the disadvantages

limewire is one of the applications steam says not to have up when playing a game.

Not to be rude, W7 will fail. Vista fails also.

i can safely say that the beta isnt better,

explorer.exe process kept crashing,

firefox failed to open on numerous occasions,

norton 360 wouldnt work anymore

i can go on

I use w7 as my head control system and it works great. It can run all games and drivers are already available and working good. [ i have an x-fi which already has a driver etc. ]

i have a hunch,

because this kept happening with my old computer, could the problem lie in the DEP (Data Execution Prevention (Control Panel - System - Advanced Settings - Advanced Tab - Performance - Settings - Data Execution Prevention (and change the settings to manual override, so that you can add exceptions, so windows wont close it) options in the control panel?

just a thought, because ive done it otherwise my games freeze every 15 min or so

I know what is problem, cause i had same problem.

1.Close all non-need app's (msn,skype,and all other stuff that is not needed)

2.Low your gmod settings if you have all on high then take something to medium.

3.Enjoy
