Johnathan Pewtershmitz Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Dear Mr. Green Community.I'm assuming everyone knows me. If they don't, my name is Johnathan Pewtershmitz. As of 28/02/2009 I discovered that I might be VAC banned. Reason? Using a Voice Changer program to sound like a 11 year old (for fun). Now, It's likely that I'll get VAC banned. Who knows? Maybe I won't.If I do get banned.. I won't be able to enter on Mr. Green, still I'll be on the forums with you guys. Being your companion..Since I might be banned for such a stupid thing, I might aswell call people to reason. Do not use voice changer programs. If you do, you'll probably end up like me. Either Banned or not.I doubt people will miss me on Mr. Green since I wasn't 'famous', but I hope my ban serves as a warning to others who are thinking of using a program to change their voice. Don't! Dor your accounts sake!Well. Guess that's about it. I'll say If I'm banned or not in a nearby future. (since I'm still in Good standing according to steam)Wish me luck. Quote
Johnathan Pewtershmitz Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 A guy got banned for the same reason. He got banned for using the same program. Quote
Clavus Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 A guy got banned for the same reason. He got banned for using the same program. You can't be sure about that. They never give a reason with VAC bans. Also, it takes a few weeks for VAC bans to go in effect.Plus, what game were you playing when using the program? If you were banned in a Valve game the ban won't have any effect on GMod multiplayer. Quote
Johnathan Pewtershmitz Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 Yeah, I know that.I used Counter Strike Source. Making it all the source games affected aswell.. Quote
Bean Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I hope you won't, Steam is such a damn shitty thing... Quote
bastardman Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 What the heck, I've had friends who have used voice changers over CS:S and other multiplayer games over Steam, and their VAC status is still intact. :S Quote
Clavus Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 What the heck, I've had friends who have used voice changers over CS:S and other multiplayer games over Steam, and their VAC status is still intact. :SRight. So you don't really have to be worried.Plus, if only used in CSS, it won't automatically affect all Source games, just all Valve games, which Garry's Mod isn't part off. Quote
Mr. Darkness Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I hope you won't, Steam is such a damn shitty thing... Dont call steam like this. Cos there were TOO MANY hacks that wanted to still millions of dollars. Only one could. But when VALVe found him, they made terrible things to him!So think about it! Quote
Ywa Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Plus, if only used in CSS, it won't automatically affect all Source games, just all Valve games, which Garry's Mod isn't part off.It does affect all Source gamers. As long as the server got VAC enabled. And most GMod servers got that enabled too. Quote
Johnathan Pewtershmitz Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 I'm just praying and hoping that everything turns out well.. Quote
VforV Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Hope you won't get banned. But how many Steam games you got on your account? If you get banned, you can still get a new account with CSS and Gmod to start with. Quote
Damien Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I hope that you won't get banned too, would hate to lose people on the server Quote
Johnathan Pewtershmitz Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 36 games overall. Most of them are Singleplayer.Still, got a lot of multiplayer games.. Quote
Clavus Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Plus, if only used in CSS, it won't automatically affect all Source games, just all Valve games, which Garry's Mod isn't part off.It does affect all Source gamers. As long as the server got VAC enabled. And most GMod servers got that enabled too.My little brothers can still use RatMan's old VAC banned account to play on the ZS server, or any GMod server for that matter. Quote
Danni Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Aftet reading the posts above, you will still be able to play g-mod if you get vac-banned Quote
RoboRobb Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Yup I know players that have been on the server with Vac bans.. So It shouldnt be a problem. Just be careful I guess with what you download Quote
Johnathan Pewtershmitz Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 Even If I don't get Garry's mod VAC Ban I won't be able to join other games such as CSS or TF2.. Quote
-RatMan- Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Geez, let's hope we will never see the VAC ban sign on you account. Quote
Johnathan Pewtershmitz Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 Well, I was searching around on the internet and from what I've seen the voice changer programs change the sound drivers. In other words, I should be safe.. I don't know. Still haven't received an answer and quite francly I'm scared of what might happen to my account.. Quote
