Ok, so I feel highly responsible for this, and although I said I wouldn't be posting on Mr. Green for a long while I feel like I need to break that just to explain a few things, firstly me leaving has nothing to do with anyone in the Minecraft.nl, I have nothing but love for the server, and If I was able to I would commit every second I could into making it better for everyone, something of which I'm confident I would achieve. Unfortunately I've had some sporadic incidents with another user recently, and there's an underlying factor and I unfortunately can't handle situations logically at times or I'll end up incredibly impulsive which made dealing with this difficult. With all that going on and alongside a huge life problem I kind of took off without any explanation, ywa and kodauer were in the dark about this. It's a shame to see a good server and it's playerbase just disappear, something which I will take the buck of the blame for. So once again I apologize for my part in the servers downfall and hope that somehow it's able to be kept together.

Gonna be streaming some more league of legends tonight, maybe about ~7PM GMT Will be in DuoQ with a guy called Pad125 who is a right laugh.

As a question for people who viewed yesterday. Did you enjoy the game I played? Would you like to see more different games in one night? Or have each session focusing on a different game? What I'm currently thinking is Wednesday: Random games Friday: League of Legends

I'll look at getting both implemented. My current vision is random themed areas which you could walk in to and pvp with your own equipment, and then an area similar to how ffa is.

To clarify. It's not No-PVP. But instead controlled PVP. It will be enabled in areas but not in the majority of the world.

Changing from factions is non-negotiable.

I don't yet have access to the server so I'm unable to restart that for you. As for when things are going to be updated I'm not too sure, theres a lot of things that need doing, I currently have 2 admins on board who I need to message. and setting it up is going to be the biggest time consumer. the earliest I'd be looking to get this all up is 1st November.

Dear Patrons. I am Balmung and will be your server attendant this evening. Some may or may not know, but recently Kodauer has stepped down from managing the Minecraft server and unfortunately for you guys you have me in his place. Who Is Balmung? This is a question that a few of you may be asking yourselves if you've joined recently. I Joined MrGreen in mid 2009 whilst the English speaking side was still called Left4Green, I was an active player on the TF2 Servers and joined the forums near the end of the Year. After a few months of application and rejection I found myself an admin on the Left4Green TF2 server, I had a great time and everyone seemed to get along, I found myself having to step down from being an admin because of a huge number of reasons. I started playing Minecraft Classic in September 2010 with one of my school friends, a few weeks later a MrGreen server was set up and I straight away started joining fellow Greens in our quest for dirt. Months passed and the server slowly became more and more public, Clavus eventually tried out a new gamestyle: 'Faction Wars' This was a big hit among players and I managed to get myself in with a faction called 'Mungol' we had great fun over many map changes, but after the updates which introduced Enchantments and potions and because of drafting laws in Finland, Mungol broke apart. Since then I came on the server on and off, Then I started playing more and more regularly and eventually became admin on the Minecraft server, as an Admin I felt I was relatively liked by players. I was fair to all and tried to encourage other admins to give certain banned members another chance. Eventually intensifying work and a love life drained my time and I resigned. But now, I'm back, and ready to take the server to new heights. Whats Going To Change? The simple answer is a lot. NOTHING is certain, I may still go back and change a few things, but here is a sneak peak at some of the changes you may see coming: To Fight Or Not To Fight So this is the most controversial of my changes, we WILL be moving away from factions. It's run it's course, and there's a repeating pattern, server comes up, everybody plays for a couple of weeks and the popularity then declines until there's a map reset. This shouldn't be the case, instead I'll be gearing the server towards player retention, I'll be focusing heavily on advertising the server to keep the server fresh with new people, we will be looking towards being much more community based. Whats In Place Of Factions? we'll be looking at using a town based plugin which will hopefully run extremely similar to how faction wars does now, though I would be looking to make slight changes such as: No PVP in unowned areasThere will be no 'degrading' power. Once you claim that land It's yoursOwned plots can't be claimed overWe will also be looking to implement some form of in-game currency, Note: This will NOT be Greencoins, It's also unlikely to be integrated with Greencoins. This doesn't mean PVP wont exist anymore. We will be looking to create special PVP zones (Most likely 64x64 areas) In which anything goes. You Said You're Removing Admins I said I might, but after much consideration I decided the best thing to do is to let the current admins contact me, It's hard to tell who is and who isn't active so any admins who want to stay should contact me via PM. I will however be looking for more admins (I think I have near free reign on who gets picked) in the coming future. You Said You're Unbanning Everyone Yup. Essentially what this will be is a new server. Anyone's previous behavior or actions during the Faction Wars Era are forgotten here. Rules Servers Changing, and so will the rules, I'll have a topic on here and a list accessible from in-game which provides clarity on what is and whats not acceptable. Bans How bans are handled will also slightly change. I want to steer away from permanent bans, ban times will be set based on severity, Type and number of Occurrences ======================================================================================================================= I've probably missed out some things here, but If I get any good questions about anything I've missed or something that needs more clarity, I'll respond and stick it below here. I've been a lot busier than I anticipated, I'm still currently talking with Ywa about everything so I don't want to confirm any potential changes to things, but I'll do my best to answer your questions. 1. This isn't decided yet, there's still some things I need to get finalized with Ywa (All of which are me being slow). I also need to find out what my limitations are for the server. 2. Essentially what I'm looking to do is a complete reboot of the server. I'd be looking to wipe as much as I can, Removing factions, removing admins and removing all bans. What I want to do is really close a door on the Clavus/Kodauer Era of how the minecraft server is run. Edit: I wont be looking at anything regarding the server currently as I want to move onto a new system as fast as I can.

I want to start off to saying thanks to Kodauer for actually keeping the server alive since Clavus departed, while it may look something easy to an outsider, It takes a lot of time and effort out of a person. In regards to whats happening with the server: So things are still a bit up in the air, Theres things I have to get finalized with Ywa before I fully take over, All I can really divulge at this point is that the server will be starting from the ground up again, we'll also see a movement away from factions, But I'll leave all this to a later topic. I won't really be taking control until some point next week.

I hope theres a limit on how much can be exchanged, either per week or per 24hours. Either that or the cost of GC -> Money Is 90% of Money -> GC

So much for me taking a break from Mr. Green. You've been trying to do too much Kodauer and thats where things have gone wrong, you want to run multiple servers for a small-medium player base and it simply wont work so you need to make a choice, Do you want a factions server? Do you want survival server? Do you want a pvp serveR? do you want a creative server? Pick something, but not all 4 of them at once. People also get bored quickly and theres minimal-to-none in regard of advertising, and even if new people do join they quickly turn away because the factions environment isn't suiteable for taking on new members weeks into a map, you should be bumping a topic on the minecraft forums daily, do something which encourages others to post there, make them apply for some status. Anything that gets us noticed is a good thing. You've worked wonders and you've stopped the server from truly being dead, But you just tried to make things too technical, advanced too fast. What the server needs is a big old wipe. Start from Square 1 and try and build from there, we need proper direction, proper commitment from the admin team and a proper advertising strategy.

I get that falling into lava might warrant something like a "no fucking way / lol oshit" which Isn't the same as this dutch trend of telling people "get kanker". But both should be against the rules but just warrant a different response from the admin team. It just keeps the server clean and fun and nobody gets offended.

Making a faction that's called 'PornHub' which was obviously only used for trolling (claiming around other's bases) is NOT acceptable. We have players as young as 8, do you think they need to see that? Use your head. Yet every time I suggested a 'no profanity' rule it was just ignored. We'd get more players(And ones which are typically more pleasant) if we integrate that.
