    End problems

    If a faction is inactive, eventually the members will lose power and the end portal can be claimed over.
  2. Eventually they will all be banned. We are currently working out some issues.
  3. The server will now restart every 3 hours, and will restart within 5 minutes if it crashes.
  4. All correct. God apples will not be added back, and we will not create any non-vanilla potions.
  5. After some consideration, markers will be removed. It's too hard to remove them, and the plugin does not have a feature to delineate between faction land and not (updated the OP). Explosion mechanics will be purely vanilla; hopefully people will find motivation to fight if it's much easier to enchant, get diamonds, and get potions
  6. Gapples probably will be removed but I dont think it's such a good idea since ore spawns are doubled Not sure what your suggestion was but I'm glad you like it. Also, enchanted golden apples (god apples) will still be banned.
  7. Due to a lot of problems with Bukkit, we cannot update the server to 1.8 unfortunately. Instead, there will be a map reset for 1.7 again on Saturday, September 20th at 9:00 AM Dutch time. Server-wide changes: Players will automatically join the factions server when logging in (survival and creative can still be joined through portals at spawn). The duels and diamond armor FFA from the PvP server will be merged into the Factions server. The old FFA with iron armor and killstreak upgrades will also be added to factions. Changes to Factions: The enchanting limits of Protection II, Sharpness III, etc, wil be removed. Instead, experience gain will be boosted by a factor of four. Vanilla explosion mechanics. Potions will be set to 1.5 mechanics (healing potions are stronger, strength potions weaker). All potion bans will be lifted! Potions will be easier to get (haven't decided how yet) All ore spawn rates will be doubled. Snowball marker system will be removed A Star Cache system will be setup. Treasure will regularly spawn every hour at certain locations if enough players are online, and factions must fight to claim the loot. Possibly a delayed GC shop in-game (uncertain).   8. A bit of swearing is fine; excessive flaming is something to be dealt with. Having very specific rules like "no caps" aren't necessary because it's part of common sense.
  9. Nocheat has already been adjusted, frozen moving is caused by lag or other issues. For now, relogging should fix the problem.
  10. Thanks for reporting these issues, but these are all things that are not really in our control. The exception is the potions not being usable in spawn, which is in place to prevent people from throwing poisons and other debuff potions at each other the moment they spawn.
  11. The problem with that is that the Bukkit API does not allow for detection of which side of a block a pearl lands on.
  12. Could you PM coordinates of certain blocks? I found your base but don't know what to check.

  14. There will be safeguards in place, no need to worry about marks and such.
  15. Fixed these issues: -Pearl cooldowns should be working. If for whatever reason they glitch, relog and the problem should be solved. -Restored number of players slots on server (back to 60) -Potion effects are reset when someone goes to FFA -Put a block on dueling one's self. -Suicide command is blocked in FFA -Extended the height of obsidian towers to prevent camping. -Restored missing item frames. Couple other issues will be addressed in the near future. Also, in other news, will be launching a hidden beta system for player skill ratings soon

Things that might change -Punch on bows -Timer on potion spams (instant damage) -Obsidian towers (ability to camp them) Things that won't change -Drinking potions at spawn doesn't matter, since the effects should be reset once you are teleported to an arena. -Pearl timer will probably stay the same.   19. Well of course you do not notice anything. As an operator, you can view all players in their true positions; it is for the normal players that it is very visible. Hopefully I can record some footage soon to prove my points. The only reason I brought this up is that you yourself have PvP'ed on MrGreen as an admin. There is not an equal playing field unless you are saying that no admin will ever fight again on the server (which I highly doubt). I'm not saying my solution is the only way, but I cannot think of anything else that would work well off the top of my head. Also, the storage file for a permissions plugin is tiny, only using up a few kilobytes, which is hardly something to be worried about.

  22. I recorded this video as a sort of promotion, right before the enchantments got limited a while ago; I'm not a great video maker, but since there aren't that many entries I may as well try.
  23. Before the admin defenders come to kill me, I'm not saying this is about abuse or anything similar. I love the admins on here, they're so much better than what I find on nearly any other server. What I want to address is the built-in function of No-Cheat to let operators bypass the PvP lag caused by the plugin. After being an admin on several servers, I have found after conducting some tests that PvPing as an operator compared to a normal player's status boosts hitting range as seen by the opponent by a couple blocks, which is an enormous advantage, as well as allowing many more hits per second. In fact, PvPing as an admin, which grants bypasses to NoCheat, renders one nearly invulnerable. As seen in the screenshots above, there exist included permissions nodes to bypass the lag caused by NoCheat on normal players. Operators on a server automatically inherit this permission. What I'm not saying is that any admins are hacking. When players fight on a server with NoCheat installed, the plugin has to check the player's movement, direction, etc., which causes a bit of time delay. A possible solution if an admin such as Mathijs wishes to pvp, a simple permissions plugin could be installed (such as http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/permissionsex/), granting an admin all necessary permissions, but not the ability to bypass NoCheat. Perhaps there is a better way, but in any case, with the current setup, fighting as an admin is an enormous advantage.
