Your issue might be that the IP changed a while back from play.minecraft.nl to server.minecraft.nl

I think if there were one single thing easy to do about the server right now it would be to modify the Green Coins setup. Making the stuff in the Green Coins shops improved would encourage more people to vote/donate. Awarding lot more Green Coins for voting (and perhaps focusing it to a couple web sites) would definitely improve voting. -Sometimes when I voted, even before the server completely died, it would often tell me I'm the only voter of the day. I understand that donating is more of a direct benefit, but more voters = much more players = more donators.

Not a bad idea, but the server also needs to start having more active admins, fixed issues, and more advertizing, etc. Otherwise nothing will change the server's current dead state.

I actually agree with those last few suggestions. I didn't bother reading that monstrous amount of writing before that. What we need are: /spawn small starter kit Only one person needed to claim land Small things that don't really need big plugins.

List of things that need to be added: Arena of some sort as dkdude mentioned. It is quite boring to walk across the entire map to raid someone then to find out you wasted half an hour after they just log out. An arena would be a great way to PVP quickly. Make it easier to get exp, diamonds, and TNT. Maybe give new people a starting kit of iron tools and some food. Also add more rewards for voting in the ways listed above. It'd be nice if a plugin was added to put a timer on teleports. Some people use these really annoying macros while on their own land to just teleport home at the touch of a button.

I kind of agree with Kodauer, and no one can say that I am in a bad faction. Killing people that just started when you have higher level equipment along with higher skill level isn't really helping the server.

While this guy's answer isn't really accurate, I think it shows the viewpoint of a lot of newbs out there.

Here's my take on things. People are wrong about where the problems lie. The issue is not about the game. There are plenty of servers out there that have like hundreds of people on that still play faction wars Minecraft, even on school days. People still play Minecraft. The problem is with the server and the administration. I feel like the server is not really configured to what makes the players happy. There are plugins that would really improve the server that are never looked into. also, it is the issue that the admins are pretty inactive. I have videos of hackers and now I don't even bother posting because I know they'll never get banned. Another problem is that there should be more advertising/voting promotion for the server. All servers lose players, and more must join to keep the player popuation up. The way I found this server was that I saw it while browsing on the Minecraft Forums. Also, it's cool that you get GC for voting, but if there was more of a reward added, more people would vote, and that's what really matters. I have to say, 50 GC a day is almost nothing, and you have to go to 5 different web sites which is a bit of a hassle, especially when you have to search up the links in the forum somewhere.

One issue that really needs looking at is the cleanness of threads, especially the hacking reporting topic. People always respond to reports and post irrelevant things that shouldn't be there. I think it's ridiculous that the MC admins (Awesomeo, corby, and Whimplash) can't raise warn levels and stuff. There needs to be some way that the threads can be kept clean. I think one big source of lag is the exp mob farms everyone has. Today there were like 10 people on the server and with /lag, there were 2.6 ticks per second. The player Mind_storm from faction Execution had idled a ton of mobs and the area around that base lowers people's fps by a factor of about 10. The whole server was lagging; it was almost impossible to PvP, mine or do anything. After xDerpina got into his base and killed the mobs, the tick rate instantly jumped to 20 ticks/second, and the server stopped lagging immediately. There needs to be some sort of solution, maybe a plugin that deletes all mobs once in a while.

Nether stars are cool, wither skulls AREN'T. Some people having all the withers they want would be way overpowered. I hear that withers can even blast through obsidian, making them extremely powerful.
