Silver Dot
I'm working on a new map (Idea by Nublin Error) and I need to know how to make a detailed cliff, thanks. Quote Link to comment
Clavus
I'm working on a new map (Idea by Nublin Error) and I need to know how to make a detailed cliff, thanks.Look at my zs_clav_wall map. It's basically displacements placed sideways. Quote Link to comment
Deluvas
.. or check zs_ventilation. That one has cliffs, too. (and cool ones) Quote Link to comment

Botervloot
Just don't carve. That's all I can say. Quote Link to comment
Silver Dot
I heard that making it out of displacements is the only way that works, but I also heard that I just shouldn't make cliffs and just start on a whole new map, and so I shall .BTW, Clavus, what are the names of the spawns? Like for Zombie Survival its info_player_zombie/undead for Zombies and info_player_human for humans, Quote Link to comment
Clavus
IW can use all sorts of spawns. If you define team spawns, like info_player_zombie / info_player_human or info_player_terrorist / info_player_counterterrorist or info_player_rebel / info_player_combine, those will work. You can also use HL2 DM spawns like info_player_deathmatch (those are used by both teams). It's best to use deathmatch spawns in my opinion, the undead will always spawn at the one farthest away from the humans, making spawncamping impossible at the start of the round. Mr. Darkness
You can use the model of clif, like in westland. If you want to make your own, you can use sphere block tool.Do u no das sphere tool? Quote Link to comment
Deluvas
Whatever you do, don't carve the sphere! (It's like blowing the entire earth up!) Quote Link to comment

Mr. Darkness
Why not? I use it for making unnoqmal land :/ Quote Link to comment
Clavus
Why not? I use it for making unnoqmal land :/Because it creates the worst brush combinations possible. Always build doorways yourself by copying and resizing brushes, never carve. Quote Link to comment

Always build doorways yourself by copying and resizing brushes, never carve. As i sometimes have to disagree with Clavus, now i agree 100% with him! Even if you carve with a window or a door, you may accidentally carve other brushes, too. Also, if you carve a window, the brushes will be like this : otherwise it looks like this : .... i think so =D. Edited July 12, 2009 by -N7-BloodGuard Deluvas Quote Link to comment
Mr. Darkness
Disagree with both of u (well maybe you need to buy new pc's ) : remember my zs_infectedhouse? Well, i usually used crave there and textures were ok and fps was normal... When i had tl on, i used crave to not resize the textures. Quote Link to comment
