Please stop creating maps with abusive bind to get likes!!!

Some map makers have the habit of binding the "+" key to like the maps. So taking advantage of that, they always put planes on the maps. Who bought the GTA SA on Steam knows that the default secundary key to up/down the aircraft landing gear is "+". 

 

This results in a false map rating

 

I've seen simple (or bad) maps with less than 20 played and 80 likes / 10 dislikes. It's annoying and abusive

 

PS: If you want I can make a list of maps with abusive bind. But it will take some time.

I never knew that + key is for aircraft gear lol I always use "2" anyway, if thats true that they do add plane cps and bind + for more likes then its unfair xD

"+" is the secundary key =P

 

I like to control the plane with both hands on the keyboard, so I use the secondary key to up the landing gear. It's annoying every time I do it I get a warning that I liked the map. u.u

 

I think this is intentionally, cause as I said there are maps that aren't so good but with a lot of likes because of it.

Ok, thanks for that info, I never knew it honestly. I will check it firstly and then I will make sure mix maps doesn't have these kind of binds because its kinda unfair. Forcing players to like maps.

What if we will bind Num+ to like and Num- to dislike? And make an ad that players can use Num+/- to like/dislike maps. Suggestion

I have posted it on multiple map topics, and have also edited quite a few map binds.

But it seems like they keep using the same scripts.

This will be easily fixable with the map script wrapper I'm using for the multi game mode though.

Already done Anyways, yes. Maps worse than OK got 200likes/40dislikes (forgot name, but was cryo's map). You can force mappers to make chat bind with info that + likes their map, that way atleast you'll know that you gotta dislike after using plane like Rafi :')

PS : I got 1 map with the num_add like script but it's got no planes and has a big custom image at finish which says what + does

Well. I removed likes/dislikes manually (semi automatic, using notepad++ "find in files") for Race server. Gonna make some checks and apply changes to the server. Will do the same for MIX a bit later.

Sure map managers shouldn't upload maps with such binds in future. Maybe we will think about to make auto-check, so new maps with like/dislike binds will be automatically declined.

PS: Before any mapmaker get upset, the maps that I reported are not necessarily bad. Most of time the problem is only with the bind that in my point of view is abusive because besides you rate the map without consent, also spam messages are shown in the chat.

I hope all of you guys understand that :-)

I think someone successfully got rid of your script.  Look at the new map "Hell chose infinity by STB".

It's a cool map but it has abusive bind key to rate the map.
