I have had an idea for four maps for ZS and possibly the awesome Mr Green server, but I have no idea how to use Hammer to have the maps set up correctly. Could someone help me?

hmm ..ideas are easy to get, but if you plan on making a map, draw it first, with all details and possible ways you can think of ...

by the way, there are several tutorials on youtube.

If you have original steam with HL2DM or CSS or HL2 you should have at tools Source SDK (just like this). Open it -> select Episode One then HL2DM (if you want your hammer program to run with Hl2DM props, etc) or Episode One -> then Counter Strike Source , if you want valve to run/compile maps with css stuff+hl2 stuff.

Then press Reset game configuration (wait till its finished) and after Refresh SDK content , then start Hammer Editor.

I have used a program similar to Hammer, I believe it was GTK Radiant, There are still some features I am uncertain on such as the clipping tool. for now, How do I change the spawn points so they spawn zombies only?

Just correcting you there Clavus, it won't crash, but some people have a chance of spawning outmap if you don't have one. Place it in the human spawn.

Oh, maybe not in GMod, but it does crash in CSS and HL2DM if my memory serves me right.

Hobo? is it a .VMF file? just worrying...

Clavus, you mean if i will put an info_player_zombie/human it will crash in css or in hl2dm? am i right?

Other way around dummy. @_@ You crash when you don't have one.

.vmf is the uncompiled, press f9 to compile it into a playable .bsp format. Remember to pakrat custom files.

I already know it :)

:mellow: I have already done the map in BSP, But it's not finished totally.
