Okay, so as you might have heard Valve is releasing 4 part comic before releasing the actual campaign. This comic leads you from end of Left 4 Dead 1 to the start of the new DLC campaign, The Sacrifice, explaining backstories of the survivors along the way.

Well he couldnt take the risk, he was probably fatally wounded too.

So he had 3 options,

Bleed to death

Become a zombie

Get shot.

And if he became a zombie, he'd probably end up being shot/bled to death anyway.

You forgot the options 'medkit', 'pills' or 'respawn in next closet'.

She wanted to get the med-pack but her dad decided that it would be best to be shot because he was true to the zombie films.
