Firstly, very nice to see this gamemode come back, it was and probably still is my favourite game and the sole reason i bought garrysmod to begin with. I pirated the game on PacSteam before buying it, and if I'm not mistaking, Mr Green had the only no-steam server so it was probably the first server I ever played.

Anywho, heres my feedback after trying the demo on sunday:

    - Zombies should be able to spawn anywhere as long as out of sight of humans, if anyone remember killas zombie survival in the past, they had it and it made being zombie easier when less people were playing. It also prevents spawn camping.

    - The colours or whatever filter is on to lack contrast or something, it seemed a bit grayish if that makes sence.

    - Set bloodspatter on max if possible, in the old versions i remember there to be tons of blood everywhere when people died.

Don't think that blood splatters are needed, they will 100% reduce the performance and that's just a bit too much for Source engine. The grayscale filter can be disabled in the f4 menu.

In any case, I'd like to leave my own feedback too. If you give me the source code, I'd do some tests on my local machine and then show you the results. And no, no Howlers, howlers were a terrible decision to begin with.

    Feedback:

    • - the game needs a fresh feeling and needs something to keep it more entertaining for zombies and for humans at start. Humans will be too bored when there's just too many of them shooting at zombies and no one dying (I noticed players leaving because of that), and likewise for zombies when someone just stays AFK. Don't think that introducing auto-kick is necessary however.
    • - perhaps the kill-reward system needs a re-enhancement. Some players start shooting only after a set of bullets has already been shot at the undead, and thus they get higher chances of killing. I'd suggest making it damage-based instead. The player that deals most damage gets the kill.
    • - maps. I'd suggest introducing objective maps and zombie escape maps from the most modern ZS. They are probably the only fun thing about modern ZS because you don't just stand in a room and shoot the entire duration of a match, you complete missions instead. I have a map that I had created a long time ago and I think I just might rework it for the current ZS. For that I'd need you to create an entity that shows hints for both human and zombie players separately. Also create an entity for zombie gasses so players can't just stand there. An FGD is also needed for use in Hammer Editor.

    Hey dudes.

As some of you may already know, I'm a developer for a free game on Steam called "Lambda Wars" here's the link.

Yup, we're still working on it, and soon we will proceed to move to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive engine which is only available if licensed.

In other words, we are leaving the free Source alien swarm engine to having a full engine to our ownership. This will give us lots of advantages in terms of what we handle regarding the engine (code, mostly) and will also be able to do more things, such as optimization which was highly required for the game.

As for the past year, we had a bunch of contributions, maps included. The game has quite a lot of content as of today, yet still needs addressing bugfixes and balance changes.

Here are some trailers for you to take a look at the game :)

  3. I just happened to remember about the Mr. Green forums all of a sudden while working on Lambda Wars. Decided to check if anything's going on.

I agree with bringing back Mr. Green old zs game mode as it will bring back the nostalgic feel. Perhaps not bringing it back forever, but as an event of sorts would do the trick. I mean, most of us are mature adults already with our own jobs/studies going on without much free time or interest but remembering something like this would be so on point right now, especially given the fact that Summer is close, you know.

And yes, I think the best would be playing ZS of the old-old 2008-2009. I would love to play that again. Was some tense shit back of the day, would be awesome.

    P.S:

[topcrew]Will I get banned for using the topcrew tag still? :v[/topcrew]

    awww

  4. I forgot this community even existed. lol

P.S: @Braindawg if I'm honest, you're lacking the mature vision that you can't permamently keep up a community like this, especially if you have work and other business in life. The fact that ZS is dying was bound to happen. it was alive only thanks to the "oldies" of that time, when Gmod was popular among that generation of Gmodders. 95% of us left long ago.

P.S 2: @Ywa If that's might help, I can try increase the amount of players in this Gmod server by bringing fans from Lambda Wars :). *Can use his executive dev powers*

it is thanks to me that Mr.Darkness found that project :P

but anyways dude you're the main contributor of the developer team keep it up, the game should be advertised more on the steam page, and competitive modes should take place often ( I remember participating in the 1v1 tournaments, good stuff sick plays :D )

Sadly, the advertisement over Steam page is limited. Steamworks doesn't allow more than 5 (or 6, don't quite remember) advertisements.

As for the competitive plays, we had a tournament (but was too slow due to indecisive players). We still got players with medals in the end.

  8. I'm not even going to comment on these shitty names as ZS game mode has died in Gmod.

But for the sake of some remaining game modes such as DD and SoG, I can only suggest having a TTT server.

Other than that, I only see a full degradation towards what used to be ZS.

    Name it Left 4 Green

  9. I noticed that nobody has really seen this thread.

Guys, I have an idea. Since the mod is free to download (you dont need any games to play it) how about we make an event to get people gathered to play the game? Lately we hardly reach 100 players and it would be great if you guys could lend us some support!

If you want to read about the game and visit forums please go to the following link: www.lambdawars.com

    Thank you for your attention.

  10. Hello everyone!

Today I am showing you a mod, a Half-Life 2 in the version of an RTS!

    Please view this trailer:

    Done?

    Good, let's continue.

Half-Life 2 universe is my personal favourite.

When I was a kid I used to play a lot of RTS, starting with Command & Conquer: Generals, moving to Age of Empires and other RTS games.

When I saw my favourite universe in RTS, this instantly became my personal favourite mod.

    So what's in it?

Literally, everything you've seen in HL2: Combine soldiers, metrcocops, gun turrets, grenades, Striders, headcrabs, zombies, rebels, crossbows, RPG's, Vortigaunts and so forth. All of that you control.

It is still in Beta however, which means that some content will still be missing.

The mod runs on Alien Swarm engine which means... yes, that's right - it's free! You don't need to have any source games installed.

Please check it out! Here is the Steam store link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/270370/

And finally, just as a heads up, I take part in their developer team!

    Hope you enjoy! :)

  11. ok since duby sent me a link and wanted me to comment.

Reiska can go fuck off because last time I checked I never saw him play ZS pre-achievements/pre-green coins.

List should at least contain RoboRobb, Sneed, Aiur, Bean, Deluvas, ChickenNugger, Darkness, me, EmRA, SilverDot, Dusty, Darkstar.

How could I forget about SilverDot, Dusty and Error404 (aka Darkstar) :/

also I am pretty sure Bob played with us back then too.

I consider an oldfag as an player who has played on the server for years not just the first 1 or 2 after it was made, that being said I think those who are actually skilled and have influenced on the server should be mentioned on the list first comes to mind is damien, someone who has played years, other would be psychopeti, pufulet, lameshot, virtue, blue sushi, shadows, deluvas, (he more on the development), skate, rob, box all skilled players who I loved to play against and who raised the level on the game, also bob if anybody remembers him, he was the best medick

The server you played on wasn't ZS anymore. It was ZS with lets-have-magnum-for-start-for-5000-greencoins or rather lets-have-lady-luck-for-3000-greencoins.

Then you also had classes that DID NOT exist in ZS. What existed was a USP and P228 with either a crowbar that 1 hit kills a resurrected zombie or a knife that did the same but in 2 hits.

  12. id like more if the real player ranking list would be fixed so id see my name 1st on everything but oh well

    You are a newfag.

Nublin catfrog, Nublin danni, Nublin catbread, Serious Sam. etc

HOLY SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT NUBLINS

    Don't forget Chainsawman16 and Chickennugget1
