    CSS Surf server maps

    The last few days we received some complaints about the current map rotation on the Mr. Green CSS surf server. Since we cannot add new maps without testing them, I offer you an one month period of time, in which everybody is able to test new surf maps on a server specially only for this purpose. If you want to add or discuss some maps, you can do this in this thread.

    This service will erase the circumstances of forcing the players to test new maps on their own and make the communication and information sharing between the players while they're playing easier.

    This server will run only one month and will be shut down after this time (cost based). Depending on the reactions of the players, the success or failure of the whole thing and the need of a server for testing purposes in the future, this service might be offered in November / December 2011 again.

    The server's IP:108.61.254.135. It offers 16 slots and voice chat as long as the players behave. Sounds and rank aren't available.

    It helps. But you will get a lot of weird stuff. In one picture theres someone saying "My Bad", which translates into "Mi Mala", in spanish. That would mean something like "Bad" is a thing and you have the possesion of "Bad". But ye it works :D And for anyone who can´t understand English, try playing some N64. Link teaches you so much.

    i7 Extreme, C2Q is very old

    (Btw,Nr.1: Its nVidia not nvidea, don't mix nVidia with nivea. Nr.2:

    Nvidia ( Ati doesn't have Shader ( it use of memory clock )
    Ehm... AMD uses the shader model as well, but they have a different layout. nVidia -> 1D shaders, latest AMD graphics cards-> 5D shaders execpt of the HD 6950/6970 with 4D shaders)

    ALSO! I ordered a Core i7-26ooK :). Will sell the 2500K eventually. Will definitely overclock the 2500K.

    Let me explain what is going on in CPU's head.

    *Reading that besweet bought an i7-2600K and will sell his i5-2500K*

    *Is upset because an i5-2500K, especially if it's overclocked and run with 4,5ghz, can handle every single game without any probs*

    *Upgrading from a i5-2500K to an i7-2600K for gaming doesn't make any sense, because your FPS doesn't / won't increase*

    *Can't bear the thought that you waste your money on an unnecessary CPU upgrade instead of buying a better GPU, what would make much more sense*

    I did not say it uses 500W at all the time. A high wattage PSU is made for high loads. If it does not get high loads it will use less watt But the efficiency of the PSU is just worse. Example:

    Computer needs 389Watt and you put in a 500Watt PSU. An good PSU has an efficiency of around 80% (If on high load). Because the diffrence is not that high the efficiency will be between 72-80%

    Computer needs 389Watt and you put in a 750Watt PSU. The efficiency will drastically be less you only will get to manage an efficiency of around 50-60%!

    That means the PSU will unnecessarily use more power than it has to use. And what happens if it uses more power that it needs? It becomes heat. And what does heat do to computers?

    Oh yea: Your computers is not that good that it needs a 1000W Psu it will do just fine with a 700W psu.

    What you're saying isn't 100% true, Yes, you don't need a 1kW PSU for a PC that will only require about 300-400W. BUT PSUs run most efficient when they're at half load.

    This Pic shows the effiency curve of a 900W PSU at different loads and you can see that the system 3 with 544W @ load has the highest efficiency. (Test)

    You can buy a PSU with 750W or higher for further upgrades, but who says that besweet wants to upgrade to 2 Gtx 580 ? Firstly it'd be nonsense if he doesn't uses 3D vision surround and secondly a 750W PSU can handle 2 gtx 580s, but the PSU might work at full load and makes pretty much noise. (Well, 2 gtx 580 won't be quiet though so ...)

    If he want to upgrade in the future he still doesn't need a fking oversized PSU, because new graphics cards will be more efficient. The next generation will be in 28nm, current one is in 40nm, and this means that you'll get either the same graphics power for a lower price and energy consumption or more power with almost the same / slightly higher energy consumption.

    See ATi Radeon 4870 -> HD 5870, the HD 5870 performs in avg. about 80% better with pretty much the same power consumption, so a guy who could run a 4870 can also run a HD 5870 or a HD 6950.

    But argue about whether it is better to have a oversizd PSU or not is useless. A guy who is limited in his budget takes a PSU which can handle his / her PC and has about 10-20% reserves and those who have the money can buy whatever they want.

    I guess besweet has his reasons for taking his PSU, so we shouldn't bash us.

    Good setup, I guess you'll overclock your CPU. But the PSU is a bit oversized or do you plan to put a 2nd gtx 560 into your sys? Well, it is pretty cheap so it shouldn't be a prob(although I prefere Corsair, Seasonic or Enermax PSUs with atleast 80 Silver certification) I'd also recommend you to buy an extra CPU cooler, this boxed stuff is horrible. A Scythe Mugen 2 or something similiar should be able to handle 4-4,5 GHz (if you overclock), otherwise a Noctua cooler(Austrian stuff, it can't be bad ;) , but expensive :/) or one of the Corsair Hydro 50 / 60 / 70 watercooler

    Put up an Eyefinity setup

    Had to remove one of my cards because Eyefinity + crossfire = Not very enjoyable :( . I've also put the red fan, which was "pointing at the floor", on my CPU cooler, very shiny B)

    The case is empty because I'll have to wait til my motherboard arrives, but I'll post some pics as soon I build the rig.

    So ... DutchMan ... Maltesers... wanna share ? :D Well, very clean place, as far as I can tell.

    I hope you guys upgraded your systems or at least post some pics if you haven't done it yet. :)

    Both are good games, but Metro was too short.

    - On Ranger / Ranger Hardcore you're fked if you don't spend your hole money on filters for your gas mask

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (all 3 parts)

    Pro:

    + Nice graphics (always reference @ release)

    + Very good atmosphere

    + Plenty of good mods (Complete Mod for instance)

    Con:

    - Buggy as hell (CoP wasn't that bad @ release, but still not perfect)

    - KI is sometimes very "special"

    War3 as in Warcraft 3? Ive tried those servers, and I really dislike them, not fair for new players at all. Invisible people, people with infinite ammo, people who can fly...

    There is nothing more to add. This mod is bullsh!t

    Hmm... He is right. Take CPU's setup with an AMD Radeon HD 6870 or wait until nVidia brings the gtx 560. If the card is good, you'll have some more options.

    1. Buy a gtx 560

    2. The price for the HD 6950 might drop and you can get it pretty cheap

    3. Or you just take the HD 6870 or the gtx 460 and you don't have to wait any longer
