These are backups of the Mr. Green's MC server. You can play these in singeplayer Minecraft by dumping the 'world' map in your AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/saves folder and renaming it to World3 or something (then you can play on it by opening the save for World3). (UPDATE: as of Minecraft Beta 1.3 this is no longer needed, just dump it in the named folder and it'll show up in your singleplayer list) World #1 (first SMP version) world.rar First world the Mr. Green community walked upon. It ended up pretty messed up because of the lack of rules.

I set up some rules based on our first weeks playing the Minecraft SMP. The game is pretty easy to grief so I think they're necessary. If you notice anybody breaking them, report it on IRC as soon as possible (or PM me, be sure to make screenshots)! Rules (CHANGED: just type '!rules' ingame) These rules are subject to change. Fucking up the server will result in permaban. General suggestions on maintaining the server and how not to be a dick You don't need a building with the surface of a square mile to live in. If you're going to make larger structures, work in teams and put some effort in it besides being 'large'. When building large structures (in a team), try to plan ahead. Don't go building right next to someone else's creation if they don't want to. Talk with people involved before you start building. Put back sapplings once you cut down a tree (destroy leaf blocks till they drop sapplings). That way you're sure everyone around has enough wood later.

Both teams are pretty much filled up. Sorry guys! Still, you can always make it known if you want to participate, who knows others might drop out and free up spots.
-
Great update. I think we'll wait for the serverside inventory before bringing the server back up. Anyway, good developments EDIT: nvm, we're going back up TONIGHT. Just a sec while I arrange some things.
-
The teams are pretty much full dark1thought. According to the sheet, Notte hasn't registered on etf2l yet.
-
Team #1 is full. Team #2 is also nearly finishing up.
-
You can always just join as backup player. You won't be in the main setup, but you can practice along and who knows we might need you in the competition.
-
That's a nice collection. I never buy collectors editions though.
-
I don't remember them ever claiming that. It's a hollywood shooter and they know it. Multiplayer looks A LOT the same. New gizmos ain't going to fix that. Still wondering how that 4 player co-op is going to look though.
-
Haha, you try beating a quad-core, 4GB RAM machine with a SSD on one of the best Dutch internet networks . The reason performance drops over time is because the Minecraft server application itself fucks up somewhere.
-
That would mean an extra byte of data per block. Now take a few million blocks into account, and you have a lot more RAM wasted. Developing Minecraft is a lot about efficient data management.

I've turned off the MC server for the time being. Reverted to the last backup (so Mr. Yellow is destroyed again) because somebody ruined the whole spawn. Again. We'll be coming back with a fresh map after the next multiplayer update.
-
Also note we need some backups (they call em 'mercs' on the contest page) in case some players of the original team can't play at the specified time.
-
I made a Steam community group for our team. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/mrgreenhighlander I'll be taking the position of demoman. RatMan will be taking the position of sniper.
-
It's a pub tournament. Stop complaining about competitive play.
-
Whatever happened to having fun. Don't start generalizing the tournament community because of a few bad apples.
-
We don't need another topic. Everybody who is interested should say so. I take it Benny will contact us afterwards.
-
I read that that Roj guy was destroying stuff when he thought nobody was looking. Just report any idiots you see DIRECTLY on IRC or through Steam.
-
3 shitposts in a row, you guys give a great impression of this community. I'm sorta interested. It'll be interesting to participate in a community tournament once. Just tell me what I have to do.

Restored the backup from this morning. First rule: no more cheatengine bullshit.
-
The server generates a folder named 'world'. Client Minecraft saves world in AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/saves/<World1,World2,World3,etc>. So just copy the server world folder to where the client saves the worlds, then rename the folder to World3 for example, and let the cartographer generate a map of World3.

Some mofo put all the trees near spawn on fire. I think I just made a new rule.
-
Yeah I love this guy's work. Also awesome he made tutorials about pretty much every technique he used.
-
Haha, that was great. It had some potential for a creeper joke though.
