We just need a design. It doesn't have to work yet.

You can still animate things using javascript or a .gif image. I like that style EmRA, just clean and simple like the original one. But it would be nice if you could also make a better representation of the rest of the menu than just a drawing. You still got the whole week, so plenty of time to improve designs, or come up with new ones (you're not limited to one entry).

Final Fantasy VII, followed by Morrowind.

No. We just started the damn map :/

The pic is nice, but the font is bland and it'd be nice if you could show how information (like the "Sending client info" messages, or statistics etc.) is going to be displayed.

Just fucking disable PvP. There's no reason at all to keep it on. Still waiting for people to organize gladiator fights.
-
I'm kind of reluctant to whitelist strangers right now unless they seem mature. One of these strangers went on a killing spree an hour ago for no reason.

I expected drama at start, and I was not disappointed. Squirrel-dude, both you and Math were fucking about so I won't choose a side. You should just have started building on the other side or something and just stay out of each other's sight.

Minecraft server is now live! Be sure to read the new commandments.

Just a quick note: if I find the quality of the entries lacking I can void the entire contest. So I hope some people are actually putting effort into it.

All you need to know: http://techreport.com/articles.x/13671 If you give an actual budget, and a link to online retailers you can buy parts from, we can make you a good proposal on what to buy. Also wireless is fine for gaming as long as it works.

This was generated on my first try. I think I found our new map

Yup, that's the plan. Although I don't know how you managed to make it look more crappy than Minecraft's graphics. More inspirational deviantArt work: I'm travelling this evening, so I'll probably start the server tomorrow.

Do you mean one big building built by everyone, or bunch of buildings connected together as one? One big building which doesn't have to be consistent or anything. It'd constantly change shape. Whatever you build is build upon the next day. In the end you could go to the 'heart' of the structure and see the first things that were build, and how it evolved. It's very awesome in my mind but we'll have to see how it works out

You wish. That's all created by a single person (from what I read in the past). Getting the rambling mess that is a group of Mr. Green Minecrafters to make that is near impossible. I haven't decided yet on what to do for the next map. Should we go for that single superstructure idea (read: everybody contributes by building stuff against one single structure, making it bigger and bigger over time)? Might be fun to see how it works out. If it's no fun I'll just change the rules halfway through. Also

Full changelog of the new MC update is on the wiki: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history Lots of awesome new stuff.

Anything you can think off, as long as the page itself doesn't take too long to load. If one includes a picture, does it need a set resolution? Nope. Just keep in mind that the lowest resolution to take into account is 1024x768, but as long as the idea comes across it's fine.

PRIZE 10.000 Green-Coins < OR > any Steam game under 10 euros. WHAT'S UP Since the loading screen GMod uses is now basically a website, we can make our own custom loading screen. You can find the default GMod screen here: http://loading.garrysmod.com . gmodnews.com has an article on some custom loading screens that were created: http://gmodnews.com/?p=959 WHAT TO DO Create a design mock-up (or working website) for the loading screen of the Zombie Survival server. Best design gets the prize. So just to be clear: it DOESN'T HAVE TO WORK just yet. Multiple submissions are allowed. TIPS * Since it's a website, we can pretty much query all our database data. For example, you could show the top zombie killers. We don't know what player is joining (yet) so you can't show player-specific stats or something. * Since the player is loading a map, the page shouldn't contain too much CPU intensive content (so a javascript game is out of the question). * For javascripters, the functions that GMod calls on the page (view the source of the default page): SetFilesNeeded( iNeeded ) SetFilesTotal( iTotal ) DownloadingFile( filename ) SetStatusChanged( stawtus ) DEADLINE Friday 21st of January, 23:59 DISCLAIMER I have the right to suspend the contest if I find the quality of the entries lacking. Discuss the contest and post your progress in this topic

World #6. Applied some stricter rules, forcing people to build in settlements. Worked out pretty well. Map was fun to explore! Cartograph here. world.zip

Waiting for mod updates. And apparently there are some lovely new issues in the latest MC release too. EDIT: Also, final cartograph:

You can prevent relaunching by killing both monitor processes at the same time. Although that's quite impossible through cmd. The main problem is that I can't do anything through CMD. If I could, I might've been able to launch a "dummy" process that has the same name, and pray the relaunching process doesn't check the monitoring .exe's integrity. True. That's where reverse engineering comes in. Or just tear the harddrive out if you want to disable the computer so badly.

I hope they put a little more RPG elements back in it, but still ME2 was a great game.
