  1. would like to know how to save my map to come out in the game please if anyone knows please help me I am new to this and my map is very good

    - To find your map that you have made in the editor go here:

    C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\deathmatch\resources

    - Then, place the whole folder of your race in a .zip file (the folder should contain your_race.map & meta.xml)

    - Then go here, start a new topic and attach the .zip file and post it.

  2. How many dislikes before a map is pulled? Need to do so housekeeping on the server.

    6 Likes 32 Dislikes

Can I just say, that map USED to be quite fun... but is totally ruined by the ghost mode.

Also, it could be fixed in 2-3 minutes!

  3. You are acting like you own the place. If you keep acting like this, eventually even REAL dogshit gets more respect than you.

(I mean... people try to avoid stepping into dogshit on the streets, but no one would care to step on you).

    lol what!?

I act like i own the place??? Why? Because I give my opinion!?

As for your so called insult... "but no one would care to step on you" lol - that makes no sense whatsoever!

Go on, have another go... XD

  4. Well.. wow.

This guy has now basically told 3 admins to fuck off. Not the most sane way to survive in a community, buddy..

    Yeah, and you know why?

Was it because they told me off for ramming/blocking? No.

Was it because I was using cheats and they banned me? No.

Was it because I simply took a dislike to them and started abusing them for no reason? No.

It's because I pointed out aspects of L4G MTA that could be improved upon, for the benefit of the whole community, and in return have been met, for the most part, by childishly self-centred admins - who don't have the maturity to listen to the community, but rather decide that they're right in every instance and so why should they listen to anyone... they've made their decision before any real discussion has taken place.

    What a great community, eh?

It's sad really that you'd prefer members of the community to just roll over and not say anything when they're dissatisfied, rather than speaking up (where as I pointed out they're met by the "we're admins, we're not listening 'coz we know best" attitude - which I happen to despise to the point that I end up telling 3 admins to fuck off because of it).

  5. lolwut!?

    "All we could do is..."

No, you could also impose a sensible limit on map sizes.

    God, you really are annoying.

Where do these ppl come from? When someone in higher rank than you says something you don't argue it :/

Be nice to him. Perhaps he lives in a dictatorship and all he wants is to have a tiny bit of influence and have his opinion heared.

lol who the fuck are you anyway!?

judging by your maps, and your sig here, you're either a 10 year old or a fucking paedophile!

Either way you're beneath me in real life :)

  6. bin, if you weren't such a fat annoying cunt I might actually care what you think or say :)

As for everybody else who has given their opinions, I can see what you're saying - and although the download pack would be an improvement I can't help but feel that 99% of players would never know about it or even use it if they did!

i still feel that a 10mb limit would work far better, and would take almost zero effort enforcing.

  7. Get a decent internet provider. If your connection allows it, speeds can go up to around 500 KB/s. So a 19 MB file would take 38 seconds to download (only one time).

Our server is connected to several high quality international networks such as Level3. Which ensures good connections and speeds in both Europe and outside of Europe ( PDF ).

All we could do is look into setting up an external file server/location. That would allow us to go over the 500 KB/s limit.

    lolwut!?

    "All we could do is..."

No, you could also impose a sensible limit on map sizes.

  8. I would also love a limit on map sizes. Although currently there aren't a lot of >15mb maps but it'd be nice to have some sort of a limitation so people could actually enjoy playing the maps.

    Exactly!

For some players, they never get to actually play the maps because they don't have fast connections!

  9. Yesterday I played a map that was 16mb and today one was 19mb!

I mean, the 19mb map ("custom map Audio Surf" by Benox - i think) had custom roads, vehicles and music - the point being that the music and custom vehicle weren't necessary at all and are just self indulgent rubbish.

When the map started, only 2 people had already downloaded it and everybody else had to sit there, or fell to their deaths (i eventually finished 5th).

Will the admins consider a limit for map sizes (perhaps 10mb...?).

And what does everybody else think?

  10. In my opinion, the rating system does fail indeed. When a map is rated 0, there is a big chance that it had less bad ratings than a map that's rated 2.56.

The rating-system gives people an automatic prejudice against maps.

Well I would go one further and guess that any map on the server that is rated 0 doesn't have any votes at all... and I would also guess that there would only be 1 or 2 maps like that, so they're irrelevant (no offence yoshi).

Plus I think it's only fair to point out that the thing that mostly influences my rating are the maps itself, not other peoples ratings. If the map is frustrating and has badly aligned roads, or vehicle change CPs in places that make you get stuck in a wall, or they're boring, or use a vehicle like the bright green John Deere tractor that flips and bounces for no reason, or any number of other annoyances - THAT is what makes me vote low, and I would assume it's the same for the vast majority of other players. To suggest that people only vote low because it already has a low rating quite frankly is slightly insulting.

  11. And players are like computers. They only know "1", "0", and "10" and they never rate any other numbers.

That is also what I meant and mr.dogshit(I gotta say he picked the right name..) doesn't seems to understand

I do understand, but it simply then begs the question - what is the rating system for then?

As it is, it's totally pointless!

Anyway, I've been keeping a tally of map ratings and I reckon the average is approx 5 or 6... of the 25 maps that i've played today, only 2 have been lower than 2 so far... so whether people only vote 0, 1, or 10 is a moot point, and the suggestion that there would hardly be any maps left seems somewhat of an exaggeration. Here's my list so far btw, added the names of <2 maps:

    5.57 - Donkey_love

    5.35

    5.65

    4.52

    5.24

1.92 - Happy Farming (green custom tractor that flips out all the time)

    3.42

    5.22

2 - you like it or you die (boring, generic nrg500 map)

    6.88

    2.43

    2.55

    6.91

    6.16

    3.7

    5.43

    4.42

    7.02

    4.07

    5.81

    2.48

    6.48

    4.07

    4.65

    3.19

So, will the admins release a list of all map ratings so we can see for ourselves?

  12. it is not reliable to delete based on rating..

why do I get the impression that's because some of your maps are < 2?

    i've made my point

u can annoy someone else if u got nothing better to do

    In other words, I'm right.

  13. There is a rating system, so I propose at the very least to delete maps with a rating of 2 and below, maybe even 3 and below?

That would be so nice. There are too many crappy maps that make people leave (along with me) and are just frustrating to play.

I don't think you can just delete those maps. Because even when the map contains a small bug or is a bit skilled everybody just rates 0, but when its good only a couple of people rate it a good number. For example I have driven a map that was in my eyes a 7 or 8, but a lot of people rated it 0 because they can't drive or are to stupid to understand it..

    I think you're wrong.

1 - If the map is bugged it should be deleted. No excuses.

2 - Just because you enjoy a map doesn't mean everybody else does. If other people want to vote 0, tough shit - that's democracy.

Otherwise, what's the point of the rating system?

  14. I'd also like to hear a more detailed description of the cause of this bug... and why no other regular L4G players have been caught out by it? AND why it's so easy for the admins to tell it's a failban especially when the bug is apparently so rare??

  15. Yes usually you have to choose those settings (i encode them with 128kbps minimum).

Here's a good program that will do it easily. It's free and you can also convert anything to anything with this beast. :)

    http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html

With all the noise in a race (engines, tires squeeling, crashes, etc.) you won't hear the difference in quality between 128 and 96kbps anyway.
