Wait why do people get 10 seconds invuln when they join? What's the point? Why not make it so you cant open doors or chests for 25 seconds, can't hurt for 25 seconds, and take damage after 3 seconds?

I play on the client. For some reason the browser version has never worked for me. I'd be all for this, but there's the issue of genuine memory error and net issues. Let's say I'm raiding some noob faction like, I don't know Ironleague? I've nearly killed all three of them with a porkchop but then my minecraft crashses. I lose all my gear and they work out fine. IDK if it would be possible but perhaps if they log say 3 times within 32 blocks of an enemy they're either killed or kicked with a message 'Combat logging is a bannable offence' If they did it again they'd be banned? I think the message needs to be put out there. If you log, you get banned. Perhaps it would disuade people from doing it so often. So far, I simply type when they log 'IGN, number of times logging' and screen shot it. Usually you'll collect more than 6 of these then post in the ban topic. I'd hope that once enough of these are done people would get the message but. You can't really take anything for granted with our MC community. Another consequence I'd favour more instead of bans is being kicked from their faction. That way the faction loses their power and helps you with raiding. If it's the leader of the faction - It would be disbanded. This would put more of a responsibility on faction heads to recruit selectively and make sure the dishonest players don't get into any worthwhile factions. It's a tough one to fix. I don't really see any way to efficiently and fairly stop people from doing it. Just sucks that every person on this server, literally EVERYONE does it when being raided.

Also, I'd be happy to recommend texture packs as I try them all out but I don't know how many people would feel secure downloading a jar from 'some guy off the internet.' If they don't know you well. To get back to MC. Anyone ever tried HD texture packs? I don't think I'd play faction wars with it on. But it give Minecraft a different feel. The top one is 'Synthetic Reality' and is pretty freaky to see. The fallout-esque one is amazing. It's called Last of Days and makes me want to play single player all over again with this texture pack equipped. The other one is Kaynecraft, and is one of a few I could actually online with. Definitely worth looking up.

There were more occasions but I was distracted in battle. [ There was also a guy who has a spam client, but managed to avoid STAB by logging after activating it. IME this happens all the time when either the player gets a memory error or has network issues. Or the server is full and lagging. The player sticks around totally unmovable yet you can still get the crit markers on them. When he joined back, he could have spawned above ground - this occasionally happens when leaving rejoining the game. Not that I defend hackers but he could have had a genuine memory error, spawned above ground and took his chance to get home.

Player's been banned. Application: Denied.

Max faction power limit = 100. After 10 players, each further player's power doesn't count towards the faction's land claimability, but he can still lose that 10 power if killed. IE Blackbird have 100 members. One day, 20 of them are online. We kill them all 10 times and their power falls to 90 land claimed out of -100 power out of a possible 100 power. As the big factions rarely have even a half of their members on at one time, it would allow them to still be raided, whilst also giving them the higher man power needed to complete more ambitious build projects. It might also encourage players to start up their own factions and not stay in mediocrity. We get complaints that we only attack new players - but the way the server's going. The only players we can attack are all relatively new. Because all the other players in game are in super factions that are untouchable. IMO, we keep our land claim to power very reasonable. There is often 2-4 of us online, and if you got in and killed us, you could claim all our stuff. That is by choice. We have a lot of friends with MC accounts and could easily pull a blackbird or prodiguild and no one could ever raid us. But what is the point? It's boring, it's not in the PVP mentality and it doesn't belong on a faction WARS server. This isn't a fucking build me a bear workshop. As for monetising the MC server. To me, it's an obvious way to score some easy income for minimal effort. Depends how much you want to bring in more money.

I don't get what your closing statement does for your argument? My sequence of events including introduction of how I met CaptKnuckles, the living legend. (Italics not relevant to topic directly) It was a brisk winters morning and I found my self near the origin of life. Myself, Corby and some members of at that time realism were with us raiding Atlantic. After we decided to call it quits we got rushed by Atlantic and began fighting in a cave system. CaptKnuckles tried to join in and got killed. He then proceeded to rush me and corby with gradually worsening swords until we finished our business in that area and left. The next time I heard of him was when he griefed the nether. Not much else to say there really. And then there's today. Again, we were fighting with another faction near spawn, and CaptKnuckles decides to come over. We give chase and begin fighting. All is going well. After taking a lot of hits and some of his armour starting to break, he begins to flee. At first he out runs us until we figure out he's using enderpearls and simply beat him to his warp area. A few more hits and he disconnects, for the first time. I wait a while and he returns. I hit again. He logs out. For the second time. This continues and continues. At one point I hide in a tree above where he logged and crouch. He rejoins and I give him a few seconds to lose his protection. He begins running off and I give chase and splash potion him. He logs off again. He logged a total of six times. And to highlight this fact, I was publicly saying it in chat. I believe Loubatron or Drainal was there and commented on his impeding ban. All in all, I may be a lesser liked player within Minecraft. But where possible we don't attack new (legit) factions. And we don't needlessly grief communal areas. An arse of a player no longer has access to our server. Go us. Edit: Perhaps there's a 'Kick' enchantment we all don't know about?

As Clavus pointed out previously. Whitelists are a bitch to maintain. I wouldn't aim at reducing the player count. Just to get 5 reserved slots purchasable via Green Coins. Clavus said via IRC that he would consider this if he found a plug in that matched all the features he's looking for. Perhaps you can clarify what these are Clavus? Let's just say you do install a plug in. All it would take is 5 minutes every Sunday night to add and remove players names from the plug in. I'm not sure how it all works, but lets say eight people buy slots right now. The first five will be added at 12AM GMT tonight, and the next three will be added next sunday along with any other players who purchased slots within the week. If you could green coins automatically given for donations, and a plug in that automatically assigns slots when people choose to spend them, you could even set 5 player slots to 'hourly' and charge a lower rate. This would mean it is attainable for those who play other l4g games and use the greencoins earned from games like TF2 on here. As for the extra traffic to the forums - yeah it sucks that there are more omfg unban me threads. But for every 10 whiney, hacking noobs. You're bound to get a decent guy who will sign up and actually take part in discussions. Our server's constantly 40/40 these days - and that's a good thing. Because we have new people to play with. But the only way the server can expand is with more capital to spend on a server.
