I agree with Clavus. If it's the Intel Core i7-2760QM then it is a great CPU, and it won't bottleneck this game. Your 20% CPU usage confirms this. Some MP3 files also have tags allowing you to see the artist and title (for example in WinAmp you click 'I'). If there's no file information but the song has lyrics, please enter a few lines. For harder-to-find material you could use a file-sharing service and provide a link to see if others can recognize it

Thanks for info, I'll try that Riva Tuna app to tinker with the fan speed. I got the 9600 series at a bargain price (2nd hand), and was bit worried about how much life the fan had in it). I also planned on doing loads of CUDA stuff with it, but the er, games testing suddenly took priority (was using on-board GF 6100 to play GTA for 3 years) xD

Demonseed has been blocked from this profile. Their first message declared their intention of acquiring my address in order to commit murder. They then falsely accused me of broadcasting someone’s address details (something I’d never do). All invites for them to provide suitable proof of their claims and air their grievance in a forum thread were ignored in favour of petty insult.
