He told me on skype he installed optifine, and was able to play on normal with playable framerates. Also using tekkit lite I told him to select 8GB of ram in the options and that seemed to help.

I think this is a great idea, we have no american admins, and although Kodauer and I have had our ups and downs (particularly relating to accidental tnt discharges) I can't think of a single person who hates him, other than victims after a raid. Hes also one of the (very small) few that have no hackusations at all . No offence bbgun or xflow but I think this would be a better choice since he is abit older and more responsible. If you take that out you would have to remove / nerf instant damage pots. And power 5 bows and all that crap, then it also makes the server less vanilla which is what brought most people here. I still voted yes.

Ignore this guy he has no idea what he is saying. Yes I think it is what's holding you back, 2.4 will run it but not very well, and the speed doesn't always dictate how good it is. Mine is 4.6 and I can run far and fancy (with low fps), make sure you set advanced OpenGL to off in the minecraft settings.
