  1. I know I'm not involved, but that's kind of harsh Mathijs. Being able to see your armor's health isn't that different from pressing "e" to see your inventory. Lots of people use Nodus to forcefield, aimbot and all that crap, and it's not like he's doing something that can't normally be done.

So many people use hacks and get away with it, and it's not right that Bidz is getting banned for something that doesn't even improve PvP.

  2. ADMIN/SEC Officer of another server.

The cause of this chunk reverting was by an admin, have you pissed off any admins?

    They used worldedit and typed:

    //chunk then //regen

The //chunk command selects the chunk and the regen command regenerates the chunk to it's natural landscape.

    THIS is admin abuse.

You obviously don't know what the admins are like on this server.... The people with the power are much more mature than I've seen elsewhere.

  3. Add: A BREWING KIT: includes: 4 brewing stands, 32 glass, 8 netherwarts. COSTS: 1500 GC RAID ATTATCHMENTS: includes: 3 spawneggs for creepers, 6 TNT. 1000 GC

The brewing kit is a fine idea, however the raid attachments one is far overpowered. Creeper eggs should never be allowed to be bought. It essentially tnt wherever you want it, faction land or not. It would mean that if anyone got in your base (who had GC) they could destroy all your doors and blow open all your chests.

    Not fun.

Yeah, good lord. I like adding cheaper TNT, because cannons take skill to make, and defenses can be made against them.

However, there is nothing anyone can do against someone that vclips into your chest room with a creeper and blows up everything from inside.

  4. I'll allow one man factions again soon, but I'll also try to counter-act claim littering in some way. Probably by making the inactivity limit even shorter, so people get kicked out of the Factions data if they've been offline for over a week.

    A week?

A week is kinda too short IMO. Make it at least 2 weeks, 1 week is like.. you get out because you need to prepare for exams, but when you come back none of your mates is online on MC and can't accept you into the faction. Especially if there are like a few mods in the faction that could help the dude get back in.

I think two weeks is what it already is lol.

    Awesomeo's suggestion sounds good.

  5. I know we've all asked for it a lot. So many things that could improve the server that will never happen.

I think the only way to kick the server back up is to completely revamp things next map, drastically making the situation better according to the many things most players want that have never happened (just look through all the denied things players have put in forums). This combined with lots of advertising, and changing the way voting works (how it's set up and the rewards it gives) so that people actually vote. The server is dying, and not changing the server much is just the way to keep it on its current path.

Just my thoughts. I really don't think this is going to happen, and I will probably leave the server until Clavus and Ywa decide to make it popular again.

  6. Factions should be able to be started with one person.

The reason why it's not happening (even though it seems most people want it) is that Clavus thinks the map will be littered with little claims.

  7. Wow this actually seems like a good plugin. However Clavus, to not have a disaster like the furnace tower, limited brewing, and limited enchanting maps that lost 90% of the players, you should make some kind of announcement in game that all players will see.
It's hard to communicate these changes to all players, since there are people who ignore the motd, tips, forums and signs I placed at spawn.

You could do one of the messages that appears in chat that are repeated over time, like the one that tells you to chop down all the blocks in a tree. It'd be a lot easier for people to learn how the plugin works if they're not active on the forums, if they can click a link in chat to get an explanation.

  8. I also dislike the idea of /spawn I've played through since the start of the server and never once thought that 'Hey a /spawn command would be useful' It's simply not needed, if you are raiding and want to use it as a shortcut thats simply lazyness on behalf of the raiders if you dont want to walk 4000 blocks to fight an enemy you should just target someone closer. /spawn is a case of want not need.

The only time /spawn would be good if it was restricted to players not within a faction, that way players who do get lost and for some reason either don't want to use /kill or look at the map have an easy universal solution. Other than that though /spawn offers nothing which can not be done manually.

Ok, so you're an old player, but up until recent times there were lots of factions to raid. Now there might be like only one group of people on to raid and there's nothing else to do.

  9. What do you guys think an arena would bring to the server?

Before, if someone trash talked, wanted to fight, insulted your saint of a mother or pretty much any reason you could muster, you'd make haste to their base and use everything at your disposal to get in and spawn kill them to obliteration. Nowadays it seems people just exchange U HACK from their water lined obsidian cubes and complain there's a lack of PvP to the game.

I just see an arena as a way to gain a little equipment and bragging rights. Which is a watered down version of gaining a lot of equipment and gaining someone's metaphorical scalp from a base bust-up.

I think there could be better ways to improve, or encourage raiding. Lowering water and obsidian's TNT resistance to just below threshold might make a difference. That way no one is really automatically safe, and your options are either fight or log and pray they don't get in during your TNT cool down timer.

Or, just take it upon yourselves to build less than impenetrable bases. If you really are the PvP Gods you think you are, you should be able to rock a mudhut and still defend it against any would be barbarians. Getting raided is fun, and if you're good enough you'll get delivered gear right on your doorstep. Protect your good stuff in a sealed off room, leave the major parts of your base tntable, and see what happens. I guarantee you it'll at least be more interesting than sitting in your obsidicube and wondering where the fun went.

All this said, I've resorted to hiding chat most of the time I've been playing recently to avoid the spawn kills I see going on, so something must be working?

In fact, our faction is just a cave under the ground. If anyone really tried hard at all they could TNT all our stuff easily. We don't even have much obsidian or water protection. Very raidable. Yet I have never fought a person on our land so far :(

  10. In any case, PVP needs to happen for this server to survive, and it's not gonna appear on its own. There needs to be some kind of change to the server. There needs to be some way to be able to fight people when they just hide in their base. In 1.2.5, it was ender pearl glitching. On some other servers, it's a plugin to break obsidian with TNT. Or on some it might be to give more TNT from shops or something. At the moment, it's just really hard to find any good fights.

It's not a problem with the game, it's with the server. As Kodauer said, there are plenty of factions servers out there packed with people

  11. I don't get what the big deal about worry of people hiding at spawn. They log out all the time anyways, it has the same effect. Also, it's actually better if they go /spawn instead of logging off because then you can still use TNT cannons on their land since they're still online.

Also, you get the other benefits such as being able to get to PVP quickly at spawn.

  12. Mathijs that thing that you made around the spawn.. isn't good.. It's really easy to get in, go near the soulsand run and jump on the glowstone *!YOU'RE IN!*

I know how to make it fool proof. I discovered this when I was messing with an end portal on a server when it was half claimed.

If you have a 2 block space above an end portal block, then walk through it, you cannot walk back at all I believe. I don't remember the exqact layout but with some experimentation it's easily used.
