Why the f*** does MTA keep crashing all of a sudden!?

MTA used to randomly crash for me once in a blue moon (i.e. rarely)

but it crashed 3 times yesterday and 5 times in the past hour!

before you start saying its because i have a shit PC (and yes I know its shit), I've noticed other people complaining about it in game too.

Same shit,today i've crashed a 2 times.I don't have a mods,everything updated (graphic drivers,dx,etc...) What we can do ? Any fix ? Thanks

Must be the devil cuz he's so mean.

seriously though... something's been changed

Gotta wait till the boss arrives, or one of the managers. They'll figure it out.

In the meantime, while MTA: SA keeps crashing, it's time to:

-Find out about TV Tropes,

-Watch an online episode of Family Guy,

-Make a map for the MTA Map Contest (You have until Sunday 17th 2011)

-Play the fan-translated English version of Mother 3 on an emulator.

-Read a Donald Duck Pocket.

So, those are just my solutions.

We used to have the same problem in our server.

First problem was the speedometer using too much resources.

Second problem was an error in a script.

It's fixed for us ;)

ok i learned that crashes happen when a vehicle is created (when player changes vehicle or so)

it would be nice if you guys could post exactly what you were doing when you crashed. Vehicle model and any circumstances you think are not important are worth mentioning :)

I can remember it happening a few times on face's new "Pro" map - 1st time it crashed was at the Flash -> bmx changeover, the next time was further on but I cant remember anything else.

Joining the server, when it loaded, pressed F6, trying to log in but before I was logged in I got kicked. (Yesterday) (At least that didn't have anything to do with vehicle changes)

I also thought it would be checkpoints or pickups, since I crashed a lot when I managed to get my hands on either of them.

Apparently it's random though because I crashed on a straight road as well.

@Bandit: vehicle creation doesn't mean your vehicle. Your GTA can create a new vehicle because other player changed his car

So you're saying it isn't random?

Could part of the problem be from the user not the server? I get kicked once in awhile but not frequenly. Could things like overclocking the cpu and vid card be part of the problem. I know alot of people who overclock used to get kicked for high ping.

how can GTA:SA crash

that is like the most horrible GTA of all time

I'm still playing it (the singleplayer) today, literally.

You better take that back or I'll send my Grove Street cats after you, punk.

Crashes, in my case, always occur when changing cars or going through a CP. Just a second before, things get very laggy, until I crash. Today, after I finished a race, I was spectating this random guy and when he got a car change I crashed. I even crashed without playing, just spectating some random guy. I tried lowering my resolution about 3 days ago, which is now on 800x600 (lame but works like a charm, almost no lag) and it seemed like I was avoiding crashes. I didn´t even crash when this massive timeouts happened, but today I started crashing again. Just crashed for the second time, so I´m writing this post. Seems to me like there are too much resources going on, I crashed a lot when I was on the highest resolution (I had a lot of lag), but when I changed to 800x600 crashes were considerably lower, almost none, until today. Hope this gets worked out. If you need crash logs or something let me know.
