I think his main goal was to keep the code simple. And this way it is. It's not hard to learn at all, unlike LUA. LUA might be pretty easy to learn too, just not as easy as this, because this code is VERY basic (goto, turn, this_ammo etc).

I have "released" my own bot (FailBot) into the wild. Nothing special, just the example script with some minor tweaks. It's not very bad though, it won 15 and lost 21 fights so far.

Team Fortress 2 Poop: The Dramatic Story of Spydwich
Mayco replied to Chikennugget1's topic in Audio and video
Tried to fix your link, and failed. Worked in "preview post" though -
Currently used AI: Sample AI - Mayco Original thread at Facepunch BotBattle Website BotBattle - AI Coding Project Basically, the goal of BotBattle is to code the AI for your bot, and letting battle against other bots. Just to end up on #1 in the leaderboards, or just to show off your coding skills. I thought it'd be fun to make this a simple coding project everyone at Left 4 Green can help with, seeing how simple the code is. These are the rules: Only I have access to the account for now. This is to prevent people from "updating" the AI with crappy code. If you want access too, contact me and I'll think about it. I'll check if the code is valid first, and if it is, I'll update the bot. Try not to remove other people's valid entries. You can make them better if you want to. Post "Locked" when you start working on the AI, and "Unlocked" + the AI + a changelog when you're done. Use CODE tags when you post your AI. I think that's everything for now! Example script (currently used): name: GreenBot; version: 0.01; chassis: green; wheel: green; turret: green; startai; label: main; if: this_ammo = 0; goto: find ammo; end if; if: this_health < 50; goto: find health; end if; goto: attack; goto: main; label: find ammo; if: ammo_dir > 8; turn: left; goto: find ammo; else; if: ammo_dir < - 8; turn: right; goto: find ammo; end if; end if; move: forward; goto: main; label: find health; if: health_dir > 8; turn: left; goto: find health; else; if: health_dir < - 8; turn: right; goto: find health; end if; end if; move: forward; goto: main; label: attack; if: enemy_dist > 192; if: enemy_dir > 8; turn: left; goto: attack; else; if: enemy_dir < - 8; turn: right; goto: attack; end if; end if; move: forward; goto: attack; end if; if: this_turretang < enemy_dir - 4; turnturret: left; else; if: this_turretang > enemy_dir + 4; turnturret: right; else; shoot; end if; end if; goto: main; The code can be edited with notepad or pretty much any .txt editor. Save it as a .txt file! Documentation for the coding language can be found here. Good luck!

Left4Dead 2 availabe for pre-order, help us buy cheap!
Mayco replied to Clavus's topic in Left 4 Dead
Oh, I understand now -
Left4Dead 2 availabe for pre-order, help us buy cheap!
Mayco replied to Clavus's topic in Left 4 Dead
Who did you buy it from then? -
Seriously considering to cancel my pre-order and get a better + cheaper game instead. It depends on extra costs, really. MW2 isn't even finished on PC, so expect delays.
-
-Sadness- Yeah, those are parts of the interview I got my info from. It's starting to look more like a console port with no effort put into it, even though they did. But you won't notice.
-
More news (and sadness)! • Max players will be 18 in total. That's 9v9, so no more 16v16, "because 9v9 is more balanced and the gameplay was designed with a 9v9 balance in mind" • No leaning in multiplayer • IWNet was designed for an "easier and more balanced" experience on PC, not against piracy • No plans for a demo. PC version isn't even finished (I thought it had to be shipped the 11th, but I might be wrong) • No "/record" feature • IW knows about the petition Source

This already exists, minus the board game stuff. It's Fretta. I guess you can say it's more like Wario Ware though.

Main difference? Who cares what color is the LCD screen on their keyboard if they have one? Black and white = Old G15 Black and orange = New G15 But that's really the main difference. I'd like to see you play a video on a monochrome black and white/orange LCD screen (I don't see a reason to play videos on your keyboards LCD, but you get the idea). That's what all the colors are for, fancy apps like this. Also, the G19 actually has LESS macro buttons. The G15 has 18x3=54 macro keys, while the G19 has 12x3=36 macro keys.
-
No, the main difference between the G15 and the G19, is that the G19 has a full-color LCD screen, while the G15's LCD is just black and white.
-
I can recommend the G15

Bump One of my wallpapers. Downloaded a dual screen theme for Windows 7, and it changes wallpaper every 3 minutes. It's pretty neat :>

My pants are sticky

Uhm, yes? That's what's all the commotion is about... Oh wait, if you really mean "to" instead of "too", it's delayed to 21:00 GMT+1.

Black mesa is a place where they make cookies. Yea but I ment this mod(?). Is it like Gmod or what? Explain, please. This is a remake of the original Half Life using the current version of the Source engine.

Sorry, gonna lock this thread. Old thread can be found (and bumped) here.

Cranetop Replacements/Map addons for PL Rotation
Mayco replied to Botervloot's topic in Team Fortress 2
PLR_Vegas_B01 looks fantastic, voted for it. I also voted "Remove cranetop, add new custom". There's so much whining about cranetop, it might be better if it gets removed. Plus I don't really like it either Oh yeah, also voted for Haywood and Borax -
Ofcourse that server dissapears, and that's one of the reasons I don't like it either. Still doesn't matter that much though. Because there's no modding or anything, you can just pick another server which is practically the same.
-
Well, clan matches. How wonderfull it will be to get those german(or whatevah) teenage kids who dont speak english almost at all, to the same server? In the past, this was done by simply giving the IP, now its gona be all invitationrumba and banging your head on the wall. As I said, you can still host your own PRIVATE game, which means your server is either passworded, or has private slots for the people on your friendlist. Maybe giving IP is still possible, no one said it isn't possible anymore, and it's very likely it still IS possible, seeing as every computer has an IP addres. There's also a "partysystem", which means you can go from one server to another with your clanmates/friends/a specific group of people you assigned. I have hosted a GMod Server with 8+ people several times, and it worked out fine. My internet is pretty fast, but nothing out of the ordinary. And I hosted GMod, which costs LOADS of resources compared to CoD (due to ragdolls, physics, tools, addons etc). Also, IWNet picks the ideal server for you; lowest ping, matching skills and other gameplay elements that you'd like. And trust me: MW2 WILL be sold a lot of times. So don't worry about not having enough servers. Note that I'm not defending IW/MW2 here, I still think the lack of dedicated servers is a really bad thing, but most of the arguments you use are just not valid.
-
But, thats the problem. No more IP-adresses, no more playing with friends. The system decides who you play with and where. You play where the system wants you to play. The server/host changes every time, and I dont even start talking about clan playing. Playing together with your friends is still possible, and so is playing in a clan. The problem with clans is: You can't have your own clan server, where your own rules apply. You have to play in either some random guys server, or your own private server. Also, there are still IP adresses. Period. The only question is: Is it possible to obtain them?
-
I'm not talking about them quickly changing it, I'm talking about IWNet. It MIGHT turn out well, even though I doubt it. I pre-ordered it together with my friends (who are die-hard CoD fans), and I want to join them online anyway. So no, I'm not gonna cancel my pre-order, I'll just see how it turns out.
-
I don't like the changes either, but I'm willing to wait and see how it turns out. It's still Infinity Ward.
