Choma

At least it seems that way sometimes, judging by behavior anyhow. And i hail from New Zealand, middle-earth, Maori-canoe, sheep-farmers, haka, etc etc. Disclaimer: Im white. Euro white thank you very much.

My current nick, Choma comes from some scifi books: The Nights Dawn Trilogy by Peter F Hamilton ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Night's_Dawn_Trilogy ). The character Choma is a sentient bitek construction that holds an imprint of someone centuries dead (the culture transfers all memories of those who die into a communal AI construct). The bitek Sergeant was created in response to the badddie from the books, and the possessed souls taking over planets. Ive always pronounced it Coma, which was a good choice, coz i did love to get blackout drunk back then My previous name on MTA was SangDrax which again comes from a book series: The Death Gate Cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hand_of_Chaos ). Sang-Drax was a weird serpent humanoid who worked with elves as a ship captain/bounty hunter. Ive used both of these names in gaming for about a decade and a half - Choma seems relatively unique, so i usually use that. (Oh, and if im roleplaying a female RPG character, i usually go with the name Ephilia - red haired dual wielding fighter/thief - its a distortion of Ophelia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophelia )

So, followed those ideas, including the logging in with forum user name (dont see why that would make a difference, as it seems to detect BOTH user/email regardless of whether i use my forumname or email as "user" (thought id try jsut in case)) Two things i can think of.... maybe it jsut doesnt like animated GIFS then? swore i saw one before on here, but may be mistaken. OR maybe as the gifs on a different server? (shouldnt be an issue - mr green forums are locally storing my avatar in uploads... sooo?) are Animated Gifs an issue here? (and by Here i mean within MTA and through the gclogin)

yeh, ive tried that as well, still wont let my Sephy.gif appear... is it possible that my copy of the login resource is out of date? Wont force removing from my install/resource dir - so on new connect client will re-get it, and THEN commandline/console -> /gclogin works proply?? Or does it just not like Gifs?

good idea... global timing makes it annoying however. IDEAS: 1) countdown timer on green forums (maybe in header), adjusted for personal location. 2) 24-48hrs before event, server announce in chatbox every hour or so (timing up for debate) saying "Event starts in XX hours" - could help reminding people! 3) rewards for events (dont know if implemented) podium finish = some amount of GC finishing a map during event = lesser amount of GC joining during event (participation) = way lesser amount of GC (Reward doesnt have to be GC - could be a free custom horn? or paintjob? or other temporary perk?) these may help entice/coerce/remind people to be a part of this event (sorry i missed it!)

You guys have a mostly thankless task, and you all do it tirelessly well, so i applaud you all Keep up the good work.
