The BF1942 theme still gives me chills. So does the Desert Combat mod theme.

I might look at it, won't promise anything. Could add my SWEP Construction Kit base if people have nice weapon / gameplay ideas with it.

I think the game is great. Lots of action, a shitload of enemies, and no time to hide behind cover for long because it gets blown to pieces. They do not introduce many new game elements during the game, I'll give you that, but that's why you shouldn't play it all in one go. There are several challenging new enemies along the way though, which require a different approach.

I didn't set any boundaries, the chunks around that area seem fucked up. Maybe try building in the other direction.

There seem to be some chunk hickups (as shown in the weird cartograph render bugs, and the fact that some people don't see entire chunks ingame). I've never seen one being entirely reset though, that's new.

HUGE image incoming. Rendering bug cuts off half Bucket Bay, hopefully we won't see it back in the next cartograph :/ EDIT: I spot a few stray buildings and a weird ass structure on the right.

I'll found a new settlement tomorrow. Everyone who wants to move has to pack his gear, remove the signs from their old houses, and be ready sometime in the afternoon for a boat trip.

So I got back into the server after having been offline to travel and the whole place transformed. Few things: * WHY CANT PEOPLE LEARN TO REMOVE TREES PROPERLY GAWD HOW HARD CAN IT BE. (remove ALL THE WOOD BLOCKS, that's it.) * Clean up creeper damage if you made it explode. This also means filling up the crater. * The Green Park settlement is nice, but I actually wanted to start settlements farther off so people would actually have to travel. Maybe we'll just say Green Park is a district of Turnip Town. * Monorail has been removed, it went so high up it went past the lighthouse ffs. Kikkers called it a subway for a reason, build the network underground. * One person can claim only one house. If you're moving to a new house just remove the sign and your stuff from the old one and give others the opportunity to move in or something. This rule has been added to the Server Commandments.

I'll be starting the server at 15:15 (GMT+1). You've got about a 1 minute timeframe before the server stops accepting connections again. Keep an eye on IRC, I'll announce it there. I'm gone the rest of the evening so nobody else can join (or rejoin when you drop out. Set your render distance to normal, could help prevent some crashes).

Vegeta7141 managed to get the entrance of your trade shop blown up, so you might need to fix some things once you're back in.

Loving the new ruleset so far. Everything is much more managed and fun. Plus the fact that people could only join right after restarting the server made sure only a handful of people were walking around at the same time (+1 for community only server ). We had actual challenges too, since we needed to keep creepers out of the town (lot of people didn't handle them properly). That wall we build was out of necessity! I'll start the server again tomorrow afternoon. Specific times will be announced.

Notch just updated MC with several fixes, causing SimpleServer to completely break again because of protocol changes. They're pretty quick with updating though so maybe tonight... Can't wait for official mod support (which Notch said is the first big thing they'll be adding in the beta).

I'll give a short summary of the planned 'rules' for the next world: * Only build within settlements * Only an admin can found a new settlement (by placing a sign with "Settlement - <name of settlement> - Founded by - <admin name>") * Every building needs to be within a 6 block radius of another building (I won't be going around making sure it's strictly followed, but it's to make sure people build near each other) * Buildings no higher than 15 blocks / no huge builds in general * Focus on building lots of smaller houses and public places * Large mines are public We won't be building larger structures (castles / churches) until later on, and with an admin around.
