Is FiveM gaining traction, how many people are on the servers at any given time? Youtube vids of it seem to have dwindled out recently. GTA Orange is rumored to go out this year, and RageMP is more accessible but less developed than FiveM.

Lirik and a few other big streamers have been streaming the shit out of RP servers recently... but yeah, most of the servers seem to be RP. I'm just itching to see a race server.

  2. Why don't you delete all of the buggy dinghy maps? Those maps where dinghies always get stuck...

Maybe a start a sticky thread where we could post bad maps to be deleted showing evidence of why they suck? Like a ban request but for maps.

Also, Welcome to my Crazy World was an amazing map.

I totally agree with this... plus also another thread to fix maps that can be fixed. I would be willing to fix some and I'm sure others would too.

  3. how can it be physically possible to have a lower ping with more routes? :frusty:

    Works for Jabba.

    No it doesn't.

It only shows the latency between the server and his VPN. It doesn't include the latency between his PC and his VPN service.

I found the issue so it should, SHOULD, be working now

    I had

    triggerClientEvent ( "hitmarker", getRootElement(),1)

    instead of

    triggerClientEvent ( player, "hitmarker", getRootElement(),1)

In ther server side script... so every time any player hit a pickup marker it was triggering the clientside script for everyone... which meant certain variables were changed meaning some graphics stayed on the screen because the guiSetVisible commands never got called (because they relied on the variables)

  5. Could you open the command window (Windows-key + R and then type cmd) and type there: tracert fenrir.limetric.com

    Post result here please. :)

  6. If there 80 dislikes and 10 likes because MTA-king made a nice map where to follow a highway for 10 constructive minutes I doubt you should give those 10 likes what they want.

You wouldn't accept these kind of maps currently either...

You're talking out of your .. errr

There is -NO- map in the server that has that many dislikes AND that I haven't re-tested/deleted.

If it has THAT many dislikes AND it wasn't deleted already, it means the map is actually good but the players whine too much because they either fail at completing it or they simply lack common sense, in which case the map doesn't get deleted because we do have lots of skilled players for it too.

What about broken maps... with ramps that aren't positioned properly so when you hit them it randomly flips your car out in an unexpected direction fucking up your race, for example.

Me and other regulars have offered to fix them, but no.

Until something changes to make mr.greens more community orientated I'm sure as hell not going to give you any of my hard earned money.

That's my results. The high jitter could cause some lag spikes or rubber banding but i would expect it to affect all the servers you play on.

Edit: does you ISP trottle your connection at peak times?

That's what I was thinking... if it was a problem with my connection, I'd expect it to effect any server I played on. SKC server for example is also a dutch server with the same port (22003).

I'm on Virgin media who do throttle at peak times (up until 9pm-ish) but I've experienced that before and it's not that... DL and UP would be limited to 25%, easy to tell with a speedtest.

  8. Run this to check for packet loss and jitter.

    0% packet loss

    46ms ping

    30ms jitter

    edit: also...

    C:\>ping 87.238.173.119

Pinging 87.238.173.119 with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 87.238.173.119: bytes=32 time=55ms TTL=120
    Reply from 87.238.173.119: bytes=32 time=35ms TTL=120
    Reply from 87.238.173.119: bytes=32 time=47ms TTL=120
    Reply from 87.238.173.119: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=120

    Ping statistics for 87.238.173.119:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 34ms, Maximum = 55ms, Average = 42ms

edit 2: I would also add that the problem seems more prevalent the more players are on ther server. right now there are only 30 people playing and my ping seems quite stable compared to when it is 50-60+ (it will fluctuate between 40 and 120ish)

edit 3: So i've been playing for 5 minutes an the issues have returned. So I performed the ping test while still in the server and got similar results as above... pinging the mr.green server was also the same.

  9. I agree whole heartedly with deleting the sucky maps!

I mean, why the fuck should I, or anyone else, donate to the server when something as fundamental to the community as the quality of maps is dictated by just one person?!

It's a fucking joke and I'm not going to donate because of it... I'd also ask others to not donate in protest too.

  10. OK So I've been having issues with the mr.green server for a couple of months now and it's really bugging me... please help!

First off, I only seem to have problems on mr.greens - other servers such as the SKC or DDC servers work fine... I can play on them for hours without any problems.

    The symptoms are:

    • i get what appears to be massive lag. other cars "rubber band" all over the place. or even worse, other cars just appear stationary at intervals along the race route (like a snapshot of where that car was at that time - if you hit them it's like hitting a brick wall... unplayable)
    • If i have to download the map it downloads at a really slow rate (5-10 secs for 100kb for instance)
    • if I look at my cable modem when I'm experienceing these issues I can see the Upstream light flashing fast as I would expect, but the downstream blinks much slower (which is why I mentioned packet loss... but im no expert, so...)

Sometimes /reconnect fixes the issue, other times it doesn't. for example, just now I reset my modem (assigned a new ip) rejoined the server and the issues started straight away.

I have a reliable 10mb connection. I can run a speed test while im playing and it shows my DL and UL rates are far from maxxed.

I've disabled my firewall, bypassed my router, reinstalled MTA, done full virus/adware scans but NOTHING seems to fix the issue!

Please please please PLEASE HELP! :(

  11. I've updated jump.lua to include the 2 key which tictoc tells me will work with game controllers... I've also changed the .txd to reflect this.

I also changed all the instances of ok = true to ok[player] = true - but it wouldn't work when I tested it!?
Have I done it wrong? or is it because it needs to be run by a server?! If you could check jump.lua quickly that would be ace!

  12. all 3 uplaoded

    very nice maps

btw the jump map had a very buggy script, however due to the awesomeness of your idea, I fixed it for you

    Hey thanks Bin :)

BTW, just out of interest what was buggy about the script?... was it the velocity trigonometry bit?... I just remembered I WAS going to change it to the vehicles speed (which I assume can be done) but forgot.

Can't wait to see how they play on the server!
