Dr. Pannenkoek Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I was thinking through the video, impressive, impressive, but what tipped it off for me was the volcano and S.S. Anne Quote

BouweV Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 So, did the whole Minecraft hype die already? Quote
TheGreenGrasshopper Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 yes atm since it's useless to play with all the crashes atm, your inventory dissapears everytime. It'd be more fun (even with crashes) with a working inventory. Atleast that's the case for me. Quote
Darkstar Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Server side inventories is desperately needed for Minecraft to become hyped again Quote
Dr. Pannenkoek Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) Thing is, i've done so much on one singleplayer, that even after the server side inventory I wouldn't really do minecraft unless there was a Server Event where we all had to help construct a building e.g. Mr. G Towers.+my singleplayer minecraft lair is awesome :>I shall upload a picture soon.EDIT:400th post Edited August 27, 2010 by Burn Quote
Mayco Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Although I haven't played it in a while, I'm sure I'll get into it when Notch releases enemy mobs and maybe the speculated Zombie Outbreak gamemode (build fort at day, fend off zombies at night) Quote
BouweV Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Garden of Eden (spawn) anyone?Must have been done by an OP because normal players cant place blocks at spawn. Quote
Hero Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I've stopped playing Minecraft for now as well - waiting for invinci-pigs to become mortal again (ham much!) Quote
deathbycrowbar Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Well this whole minecraft fad died rather quickly... Quote
VMR Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Well this whole minecraft fad died rather quickly...I'm still playing it Quote
BouweV Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 I'm not playing it, cos I'm afraid of the monsters Quote
deathbycrowbar Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Well this whole minecraft fad died rather quickly...I'm still playing it It is fun but you have to put alot of time into it to make it fun. I don't have enough free time for it anymore Quote
Clavus Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 It needs some updates before I start putting time in it again. Got enough to do already since the new year started. Quote
Ywa Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Well this whole minecraft fad died rather quickly...YepMainly because of the lack of (multiplayer) updates, because Notch went to Valve 'n shit. Quote
QTesla Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Offtopic, I never noticed TC red was so... red.And on topic, Isn't single player still worth it? You guys were happy with it before it had mulitplayer Quote

Albino_Gunner Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 well when we get server side inventories and eventualy get zombie siege and stuff minecraft will be good again but untill then there isnt much to do Quote
Albino_Gunner Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) its firday so i decided to check minecraft dev status and found this:Seecret Friday 9! OooooOOOoo! And Minecraft Alpha 1.1.0! And Minecraft Server 0.2.0! The Seecret Friday part ended up being extremely tiny this time around, but that’s because I made sure to add this: + Added server-side inventory+ Made the server save player locations when they leave the server+ Made chests work in SMP+ Made signs work in SMP+ Made furnaces work in SMP+ Added monsters=false to server.properties. You can turn it on for experimental monsters, but you can’t hurt them directly yet. (Fire works, though!) But this is NOT SECURE YET! I decided to just focus on making it functional first so I actually got it out. I’ll work on inventory security and server-side health management next week. Server-side health means you’ll be able to fight monsters and perhaps even other players. Edited September 10, 2010 by Albino_Gunner Quote
