Yeah I don't know parts of the rig because I don't have a home-made pc.I'll search for them though.

Edit: Added some more things, but some are not 100% sure, I took them from canyourunit because I'm too lazy.

There's no such thing as a q9940 and there is no such thing as a water cooling system with a name. :V

Well there's no whole system with a name but there are waterblocks, pumps and radiators with names. However, Chiken has an asus pc (I think) so most of the parts will be proprietary asus branded parts anyway.

Nope it's an acer crap.

Not a crap :(

Well it sucks with all the problems I have but it's fine for games.

And I have a watercooling system... I'll edit the specs in a second.

Edit: Done.But I still don't know my watercooler's brand.

So guys, a few days ago I bought 2 AMD Radeon HD 6950s, now unlocked and running as 6970s, and I was really happy, especially about the performance improvement in Metro 2033. So I thought that I should run the metro bench and viola:

Settings: 1920x1080, Dx 11, Very High, 4x MSAA, 16x AF, Tessellation & Advanced DoF

( No advanced PhysX, cause I barely see any difference, one explosion during the bench and those few added particles don't make it looks better )

Results from all 5 runs:

Max.: 151,72 fps

Min.: 8,68 fps

Avg.: 41,2 fps

I also ran the bench without Advanced DoF to compare the results with my 2 5870s.

I can't remeber the exact results of my 5870s, but the avg. fps were about 31 fps.

Results of my 6950s without Advanced DoF:

Max.: 181,29 fps

Min.: 7,85

Avg.: 49,8 fps

So you bought two HD6950s for something that was perfectly playable to begin with

31fps | 49,8 fps with the same settings, almost 19 fps difference, and with the 6950s I can use Advanced DoF and still have more fps then before.

HD5850 still handling everything at 1080p and max settings here. I don't think it will have problems with Crysis 2 either.

We'll see :P

Edit: Ok, added 6950s to the 2nd results, I guess it was misleading.

You don't see difference when enabling Advanced PhysX, because your GPU's don't support PhysX.

Anyway, nice results. Although it's a bit excessive for more performance in just one game.

Metro 2033 supports PhysX on processors, so if I enable it, my cpu calculates the particles, which I can also see by explosions, but 1st of all, a few more particles are nice, but I can life without them, and 2nd, my fps drops are enourmous, but only ingame.

I've not only bought the 6950s for Metro. 2gb videoram, dual-bios + the possibility to unlock the cards to 6970s and performance improvments in almost every game were the reasons why I bought them. ( And the huge improvment in Metro 2033 of course)

Hello :) Whaddaya think about this? :D

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5GHz

Motherboard: MSI MS-7502 (OEM motherboard for lame Medion computers)

RAM: 4GB's of 2x2GB RAM running at 133MHz.

GPU: Glorious Sapphire HD 4830 overclocked at 700/1020. (I can go higher, but I'd like to keep my fans silent, and using non-CCC tools make it run loud all the time.

HDD: 1TB of OEM shit divided into 3 partitions. Windows 7, Windows Vista and other craps. (non-OS crap, like gaems and musics)

OS: Windows 7/Windows Vista (dualboot, but I don't use Vista. Just sometimes, because I regularly fuck up Windows 7)

It runs ENB Series + GTA IV + 2xAA at 1024*768 stretched to 1280*960 on a 1280*1024 screen at 15FPS.

System is still pretty much the same, except I threw out my GTX 295 and my 8800 GTX for PhysX because I couldn't take the crashes anymore.

I swapped it for a XFX HD6970. Very nice card, just too bad I figured out you could flash a HD6950 into a HD6970 too late.

New specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 @ 3.2 GHz (for stability testing, usually overclocked to 3.8 GHz)

GPU: XFX AMD HD6970

Mobo: Asus Striker II Extreme

RAM: 4x 1GB OCZ SLi-Ready Memory @ 1800 MHz

Oh boy, here we go again.

ENB Series is a mod to improve GTA IV's graphics. It's very everything-intensive.

http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=417918&st=12960entry1060283183

Kay, I didn't know that. The mod might be nice, but I'd prefer a playable game and not a diashow, means 30+ fps or in case of GTA 4 25+. Just my opinion.

@ Damien

Hehe, pretty nice step. From a dual-core to hexa. Good choice, good choice. ;)

And @ Mayco

Flashing a 6950 to a 6970 can save some money, but you lose your warranty and you can't be sure that the card can handle the higher clock rates. E.g. one of my flashed 6950s won't run 100% stabil, because of the memory clock rate so I have to underclock it a little bit.
