  1. Sorry guys Maybe you could add spawners to the GC shop? Make it high priced and only purchasable once per player per map?
  2. The only logical reasoning I can think as to why it's not working as easy as it did last night is that (stick with me because I don't really know what I'm talking about) Dungeons were introduced ages ago, before Mojang decided to code in 'structures' like mineshafts, villages etc. Therefore, dungeons are hard coded to a seed number. BUT, structures aren't. The minecraft world generator know's where to put the structures based on co-ords, but the layout and contents is randomised by the world generator totally independent of the seed. So in effect if the spawner was found in a shaft, and i regenned the area, it knows that a mineshaft is supposed to be there but it randomises the layout meaning the exact same stuff doesn't get replaced. This is all based on the fact that last night Clavus and I literally walked into Kodaeur's dungeon (an isolated dungeon, not a dungeon attached to a shaft), selected an area and typed //regen and it worked. With two other bases (TheMonkeys and Cruxis) it's not working, and they're both at mineshafts. If anyone can find an isolated dungeon and let me know the co-ords I can do some more testing and see if I can get to the bottom of it. @Clavus, just saw your other post about encompassing the dungeon. I've tried modest selections, large ones, even a whole chunk with no luck.
  3. Can't seem to get it to work again Clavus, did you change craftbukkit versions at all last night?
  4. Trying to keep things in some sort of logical structure, don't bump the incorrectly submitted report and stick with this one for your unban procedure. Indeed, but the decision was made by two of us to ban you ages ago. After foregoing the unanimous decision idea I actioned your ban. Hacking on other server's doesn't matter, needs to be on l4g for it to apply. Shouldn't upset you too much as I assume xtissetass1234 is your alt. If you're banned on that one it might have been a mistake as I was a little sleepy when banning 'xtissetass'. Let me know if that's the case, but other than that. Ban remains.
  5. No evidence of Thomasn, but kayan_k is banned.
  6. I'm as clued up as you. When I regenned the area with Clavus and Kodaeur the dungeon respawned in all it's glory, there was a chest and a spawner, and mossy cobblestone to boot. I'm not entirely sure why when I tried it on two other's it didn't work. I used exactly the same procedure so I find it odd to say the least. After the excitement of hackersgate last night I didn't get round to digging through the bukkit reports and I've got a busy day today But feel free to help me out
  7. Well unfortunately for him the admins do check. And after last nights occupation by Clavus Whimplash and myself, Atrueminer and a hell of a lot of other people are permabanned
  8. If you lost a spawner and want it back, PM your faction name with a description of where your spawner was, and use some form of block to indicate the area (remember to tell me which block if it's not obvious)*. Lying won't do anything, as world edit only replaces what was there. If you waste my time I might ban you for a day and waste some of yours *If this is a recurring thing I reserve the right to change this policy without any form of warning.
  9. That's a great suggestion, I was sitting here thinking of how to break it to you that I couldn't replace the spawners due to lack of proof they were there in the first place. If we can figure out the cause, make sure it's not limited to our server, and get a fix I'll see what I can do
  10. Can't see anything obvious on google. When I get on I'll do some testing and see if I can replicate the issue and dig around some of the bukkit bug reports. As for replacing it, I'm not sure what good that will do until the bug has been fixed. As with any new version there are gunna be annoying quirks until the dev team can get things patched up, all we gotta do is wait
  11. I always feel excessively harsh banning for spam, especially noobs that are frustrated that they can't find a faction. If he's found a faction by now I'll leave a note in their base, if he hasn't he'll likely not come back anyway
  12. All x-ray bans are dealt with by our in-house automated plug in. Recently it was mentioned that x-ray bans will be reset in between maps, so you'll have to wait. Just know now that the plug in works, and uninstall x-ray when you get unbanned
  13. Beware, THE WITHERSPOON! How are the wither heads being implemented though? If they're fairly hard to get then I imagine it won't be as much of a problem. Plus, as with everything, a bukkit plugin will swiftly pop up to disable it 'cause it'd ruin every PVP server
  14. Fair point, orefubsucator (or however the heck you spell it) might feel a little more comfortable on the new host.

They get new puppies every few weeks, nurse them up and then they get adopted! Think it's only been on for about a month.

  15. I'm a little confused. Is the server going to be pay to play, as in only those that subscribe are whitelisted, or are we trying to reach a donation goal before sinking the cash? My university decided to give us an entire years coursework in the first term for fairly logical reasons. So I'm currently finding it hard to find time to sleep. But when my workload decreases I should hopefully be able to be a little more attentive to the server. Hoping this pans out
  16. If your kick message reads 'banned for xray' or something similar, it wasn't an admin that did the banning, but the automatic plug in.
  17. Well, after a couple of disagreements over bans we've tried changing the way bans work. When a video is posted it's added to a spreadsheet, each of us give a vote and if all vote ban, the player is axed. Now, this means we're certain that all admins are in agreement, and that there should be a better consistency in terms of bans, but it also means that decisions get made a lot slower. When we ban for hacking, that ban remains for life. I don't think it's fair to expect a decision like that to be made in a hurry because one of us hastily makes a decision just to appease the accuser's sense of time value. If someone posted a video of you that looked on quick glance to be hacking, would you prefer it if i just banned you to speed things up? @xDerpina, all of your videos bar the last one have been decided upon. I'd like you to open up each and every one of those videos and decide for yourself why you think the last one might be taking some more time. We won't tell you every detail of a videos decision process. We might not even tell you if we've banned the player in question. But if you post your video in a concise, short, and clear manner on the hacker reporting topic, you can be assured that it'll get viewed. If you guys want a streamlined, efficient ban process, you need to sort your own habits out. DON'T. POST. ANYTHING. BUT. REPORTS. IN. THE. REPORTING. TOPIC. I don't wanna bash you over the head with semantics but it's in the damn title. You should all thank the stars that I don't have forum permissions otherwise your warn statuses would all be considerably more erect than they are now. DON'T. POST. VIDEOS. LONGER. THAN. SIXTY. SECONDS. Name a hack that requires more than 15 seconds to provide prove? Exactly. Now I'm cool with a little surrounding footage, it actually helps to assess the degree of lag and other suspicious activity. But really some of you guys post some theatrical length epics and it's just too much to analyse. DON'T. POST. UNLESS. YOU'RE. SURE. Pretty much 95% of reports don't end in bans, and about 85% of posts aren't even worth the time it took to look at. Far too often you see people recording a pvp where they get old school pwned in and then attach every hack name under the sun hoping to strike gold. It's also worth mentioning that the vast majority of forcefield reports are just lag, the two can look very similar. Things like people hitting you whilst looking away seem to be the ugly child of the monster that is lag rather than hellbent hackers. If we manage to get the latency issue fixed hopefully this will reduce the amount of reports, and thus the amount of people getting upset at how long bans take.
  18. If it were an exploit similar to the last, I'm sure the griefing wouldn't be isolated to stealing one dude's stuff. And despite popular belief, none of the admins would take the time to come rob you. Most of the time, it's someone in the faction. You sure you didn't demod the guy, have another player or get your account breached?
  19. With a name like lol123, I was pretty certain this topic would be Minecraft related.
  20. When it's in the right forum it'll get the right attention.
  21. Banned for x-ray. That said, we recently gave a load of x-rayers a second chance. If Clavus gives the nod you might get one too
