Thats good way to start modelling . Next you should start checking materials window and light system Oh btw. Go youtube and search for Vray. Thats very good and realistic light system to 3ds max. Oh yea, I can also put textures on objects,. and use proper lighting I'm not into 3D Modelling, so I'm not going to learn anymore. What I know now was mandatory for school

Meh, because I cropped the map it doesn't generate new terrain at the places I removed. That's why 3 sides of our map won't generate new terrain. That does is a nice way to keep the terrain smaller
