    Hi!
    I'm here to ask the Mr.Green's community if they are interested in a new Valheim server. Before we start tho, let me do a quick introduction. My name is Morgan and you can find me on on Discord @Sukkerpups. I am the new Valheim game server manager.
    Yesterday i reached out to the Mr.Green community and suggested a Valheim server and i offered my self to manage it as well. The Mr.Green management thought this was a good idea. So, i'm here to day to ask the Mr.Green community what you guys would want in a Valheim server, and if you want a Valheim server in the first place. 
    These are some of the routes we can take with a Valheim server:
    Vanilla server: Which means a barebone original gameplay experience for everyone. Modded server: Which basically means there are endless of possibilities to expand the gameplay.
    Vanilla server.
    Now, the Vanilla experience is fun in it self and are limited to 10 players playing simultaneously. Overall this is a great experience for both new players and for the more experienced ones as well This being said the general game experience will become repetitive after completing all the bosses and the content will be exhausted quite fast after this. Unless new Valheim players are recruited all the time, the playerbase will drop quite fast after some time. Even tho i love the vanilla gameplay, this is a sad reality.
    Modded server.
    Compared to Vanilla servers longevity can be extended with mods. With a modded server we can start out with a Vanilla server and expand as time goes by. To give you an overview of what mods can do, here are are some examples:
    Pure PvP/PvE or both mixed together with zones. New bosses and monsters - Can also be custom made. Custom raids. Want dragons to attack at certain times? No problem. Marketplace and NPC's. Want to have an RP server with it's own economoy? That's easy. Weather effects. Tired of the night? Extending the daytime is possible. Do  you love snow? How a bout some snow and cold weather that deals damage. Hey, why not have whole seasons like summer and wintertimes.  Buildings. Modded servers has the ability to add different, new and custom building materials. Tired of people griefing your buildings? Why not make them indestructable or have better wards. Events like arena PVP is fun and easy to create. Longevity.
    The longevity of a Vanilla server compared to a modded server is massive. However, not everyone wants to play on a modded server and vice versa. That's why i'm here to day.
    What kind of a server would you like, and do you guys even want a Valheim server for the Mr.Green community? Please share your thoughts, opinions, experiences and your visions below.

    If they are struggling to kill them that's a nice thing imo It means headcrabs are decent. I don't want to let the humans win too easily

    One of the issues I found was that the zombie 'flash light' is really harsh on your FPS. When using it I had about 10 frames. So something isn't quite right with it.

    Hi greenies !
    A new public demo for Zombie Survival : Redeemed Edition is scheduled for the following dates :
    Friday, May 14th at 19:00:00 GMT time to Wednesday, May 19th 23:59:59 GMT
    (Yes it's a little bit longer than the previous one ).
     
    Server IP will be : 5.2.65.5:22054
    You can type connect 5.2.65.5:22054 into your Gmod console if you can't see the server in the list.
     
    We're currently running a private demo for testing purposes, and there may be a few minor bugs remaining after that one, but I will create another thread in which you can post feedback and bug reports in case you encounter some of them.
     
    What won't be part of the demo / isn't available yet :
    - In the F1 menu : side buttons (only the Armory, Greenshop and Stats menu can be used for now).
    - VIP Shop / VIP status
    - Bug report tool.
    - Mr Green Gaming account linking
     
    Progress / rewards :
    - You will get your greencoins from the last demo if you were present, as well as the Prime Undead title which is given to everyone who played during the first demo as well as this one (we will give the title in batches, so it may not appear the first time you join, feel free to PM / ask on Discord or here if you don't have it).
    - Your achievements / titles / icons / greencoins will be saved after the demo and will be restored for the final release, though this may not be the case for the player stats which are prone to be reset.

    Another quick update as of today 15/04/2021
     
    DONE
    - Masteries system (what once was called "challenges"), see below.
    - Icon designs (well, I've got some of them in the game, Mansen is doing the others)
    - Added the "sometimes I dream about cheese" and other voices for human players
    - Added a few zombie skins and a few new guns
     
    TODO
    - Polish the masteries and make sure they all work (we will need a demo for this, I'm afraid ) + do a menu for displaying information about them
    - Admin menu + fix the chat commands
    - Headcrab fixes
    - Minor fixes / changes
     
     
    So, what are masteries ?
    It's basically a weapon / zombie class levelling system. See, humans have to kill to get new guns, that's a vertical levelling. More kills = better guns.
    With masteries it's an horizontal levelling. You can now improve every weapon to increase some of their stats (damage, firing rate, amount of ammo regen and such) and unlock a "unique" bonus, depending on the weapon (well,  some weapons currently share similar bonuses, but this could be changed later).
    The same goes for the zombies. Each class can be improved to increase some stats (health, speed, damage etc) and they get a specific perk at the end.
    The stats aren't changed that much, we're talking about small numbers. It's not supposed to be gamebreaking, but it will help players that have difficults getting new weapons or that would like to stick with specific ones.
    Also, the stats increase and perks are weapon-dependent. You need to equip the weapon to have the stats and perks active.
     
    Weapons and classes have a maximum of 5 levels. When getting a weapon or picking a zombie class for the first time, you start at level 1.
    Levels aren't permanent, starting a new game/map will reset everything to zero. It's like a MOBA where you have to level up your character.
     
    Earning XP is usually done by killing players, but for the sake of accessibility, it can also be earned through damaging others : damaging a player gives you a small amount of XP. Killing a player gives you a fixed amount of XP + the XP earned from damaging them.
    Zombies can also earn XP by damaging/breaking func_breakable props (breakable walls, planks), and they get a few XP whenever a human dies.
    It's still work in progress so this may change a bit, but you see the point.
     
    Just a few examples of masteries, to give you an idea :
    Usp45 : Lvl2 = precision increase, lvl3 = damage increase. lvl4 = more ammo from ammo regen, lvl 5 = heals you 5 HP when you kill a zombie
    Mp5 : Lvl2 = Precision increase, lvl3 = firing rate increase, lvl4 = damage increase, lvl5 = You have a 15% damage resistance when infliction is over 75%
    Zombie : Lvl2 = health increase, lvl3 = speed increase, lvl4 = propkill force increased, lvl5 = 30% chances to respawn on your death spot, maximum twice (this was in the original ZS but for some reason it got removed, so I brought it back here )
    Fast Headcrab : lvl 2 & 3 = health increase, lvl4 = speed increase, lvl5 = perma regeneration (2HP / second)
     
    When is the next demo ?

    I wanted to do this at the end of the month but this is going to be tight, I'll post about it whenever the game will be ready for a demo.

    Update as of today 09/02/2021 :
     
    Done :
    - "My Hats" menu is now done, you can equip the hats that you've bought / unequip them
    - Reworked the zombie classes menu so that you can now choose a skin for the next time you respawn
    - Skins and hat choices are saved between games (same will happen for titles and icons)
     
    Next TODOs :
    - Titles
    - Icons probably later
    - Achievements implementation + other upgrades to implement

    Once in a year I check these forums for a resurrection of ZS. It appears that efforts are being made and it is looking good!

    Update as of today 21-01-2021 :
     
    DONE :
    - Buy button works, you can buy upgrades, hats and zombie skins (and other items when I add them)
    - Upgrades are in progress but some of them are implemented and working (last man standing, lady luck, comeback, quick cure ...) I'll check the others one at a time after that.
    - Hats are implemented, but you can't equip them for now (only bots can). This will be done with the MyZS menu.
    - Zombie skins are WIP but I have done a quick test with one of them (screenshot below), it seems to work so I'll see with the other models, and add an option to equip/unequip skins.
     
    TODO :
    - MyZS / Inventory where you can select your hats, titles and other thingies
    - Rework the zombie classes menu so you can choose a skin for your class for the next respawn
    - Design the achievements / challenges system

    Little something about your self and why you think you're fit to be admin: I can write an extensive post about all the things related to zombie survival and the many years I have spent om the MR.GREEN zs server from 2009 onwards. From getting all the achievements in ZS to buying everything in the store to getting admin and finally becoming server manager to finally having to forego the zombie survival servers due to lack of people working on the gamemode. I have never truly lost interest in zombie survival and want to be a part of getting people in line when they step out of line when necessary.

    Hi everyone !
     
    Just a reminder that the server will open on time, aka tomorrow at 19:00:00 GMT
     
    The server name is Mr Green Zombie Survival Redeemed Edition.
    If you can't find it in the server list, open the console in Gmod and type : connect 5.2.65.5:22054
    No password needed.
     
    Also, a few things to do before joining :
    Make sure you have Counter Strike Source installed, else you'll have missing textures and models.
    It is also highly recommended to have Half Life 2 Episode 1 & 2 installed as some maps use content from these games.
     
    Finally, make sure to clear your garrysmod/download folder, especially the garrysmod/download/sounds/mrgreen folder
    For those who attended last weekend's private demo, this folder should be cleared because it contains broken audio files.
    They are fixed now but you will need to download the new ones.
    Make sure to also delete the modelsounds.cache file in the /garrysmod folder as it can contain remnants of the broken audio.

    Here is my map, feel free to test it out! First map that i have ported over from css to Gmod so i have no idea if its working, but it should since Gmod and css runs on the same engine and uses the same props! Feedback is always welcome.

    I'm happy to announce that a public demo weekend for Zombie Survival : Redeemed Demo is planned for the following dates :
    Friday, November 20th at 19:00:00 GMT time to Sunday, November 22nd 23:59:59
    In the mean time, a private test demo is planned this week to make a few adjustments / optimizations.
     
    Server IP is  : 5.2.65.5:22054
    Please note that the following content won't be part of the demo :
    - Greenshop
    - Achievements
    - Unlockable content
    - General Menu (aka F1 / help menu, thought there might be a placeholder menu for the demo)
     
    If you join the game during the demo weekend, you will be able to earn Greencoins that will be added to your account when the final mod will be released !
    Participants will also get an exclusive in-game title that will be awarded on release  !
    Make sure to join the Mr Green Gaming Discord to have fun with us during that weekend !

    As promised, a small video to show some features (including propkills because Psycho loves em ).
    It's still work in progress but it will pretty much look like that at the end
     
    As of today, 04/11/2020 :
    - Wraith is done and functional
    - Fast zombie is done (attack animation needs a little tweak but otherwise it's functional)
    - Chem zombie is done, except 3rd person animation which is glitchy
    - Score screen with real data is now finished
     
    TODO :
    - Poison Zombie
    - Poison Headcrab
    - Fix the headcrab animations (again )
    - Fix chem zombie animations
    - Fix some Weapon animations glitch
     
    Aaaaaaand after that we'll be good to have a public demo. Hopefully we can make it in around 2 weeks if everything goes well !
    I'll get some help for the animations because this is a big deal !
