  1. Jesus, incase you get spotted, just get behind a fucking wall and you'll disappear from the minimap.

so stop making shit up, or just stfu.

Oh, so every time I shoot there's a wall next to me? Cool.

Are you seriously complaining about that? It's very short, probably only shows up for players actually in range of the noise, and most of the time you're not looking at your minimap when under fire. I think it's a nice assist for people that lack 7.1 surround sets.

Now may someone please present some good arguments why it would be better to have this feature than just leave it out.

It was right there. Quoted in your own post.

In addition to what clavus said, it also gives more reason to use the silencer (assuming that silencer will prevent you from showing up on the miniman when shooting)

Noup, cant see any. And I dont want to make my gun less efficient by using a silencer, and usually I want to use my heavy barrel. I dont want to get spotted if I happen to play as sniper when I havent unlocked a silencer for my gun.

  2. Dudes have you even played that shit BF3 maps are large and chaotic just because you see a fucking dot doesn'tmean it gives you a golden ticket for a kill.... If you run up to the dot like a mad man you will probably be killed because THERE IS SO MUCH SHIT GOING ON YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TIME T FOCUS ON THE DOT... it's just an indication for enemy position's. And it's alot less worse then the spotting from bfbc2(wallhack) just wait for it to come out then judge...

Now may someone please present some good arguments why it would be better to have this feature than just leave it out.

You think that some people wont run up to the dot just to get one kill? Oh there will be plenty of people who just look at their minimaps and wait for the dot to appear so they know where you are and then rush up to kill you, even if they're gona die too.

I dont need to wait for the game to be released to say that this feature sucks.

Yes, I am seriously complaining about this. Its a small, but an important detail. I dont have 7.1 surround set, but I cant figure out even one way that it would assist my(or anyone else's) gameplay.

It's not an important detail at all. Why bother.

If you think it's not important, why add it into the game.

Nobana, are you trying to tell that if someone infront of you starts shooting an AK, you dont spot him? If you dont like it, play a fucking modded server. P.S gonna start downloading it in few hours, and check out the campain. Gotta play while its still fresh :3

What? Of course I see him, who said the spotting only applies if he's infront of you. What modded server, I really doubt its possible to disable a feature like that in a server. PS. You're a faggot for downloading this game.

Lets say you're playing Operation Metro, sitting in corner of a building on street level, shooting someone across the street/map. Enemy is above you in the building, surrounded by gunfire so he doesnt even figure out you're there. But, wait! Oh, he can see you in the map even though he doesnt have visual contact to you, and so can his friends!

Now may someone please present some good arguments why it would be better to have this feature than just leave it out.

  5. Oh my fucking god. That might just be the stupidest little thing they have added into this game. I bet they're gona defend it by saying that you dont show up on the map if you're using a silencer. I DONT WANNA USE SOME GOD DAMN SILENCER!

  6. Punch in origin details in some third party program.

I'd rather use scrabble on the android/iOS thingies to change it.

Was too lazy to do that. This was quicker and easier, and I doubt someone wants my Origin with one game on it.

E: Also changed my Origin password just to be sure.

  7. http://battlefieldo.com/origin-id-changer-windows/

The Origin ID changer for Windows, I used it to change my ID to Nobanaa, and it worked instantly.

E: "The application itself uses the EA Android API to send the commands to change your Origin ID. The Author was also kind enough to release the Source code of this tool. So if you still have concerns using it, you can check the source and just compile it yourself."

  8. 4 of 9 multiplayer maps revelead, rest 5 tomorrow!

All gamemodes available an all 4 maps.

    WORKING TITLE> OILFIELDS

    DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP012

    SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL

    BRIEF> ALL-OUT DESERT WARFARE

FICTION> U.S. AND RUSSIA LAUNCH LARGE-SCALE ASSAULTS TO CONTROL IRAN’S BIGGEST SOURCE OF OIL. SECURING THIS AREA WILL OFFER FULL CONTROL OF THE SECTOR AND ITS KEY FACILITIES.

NIKLAS ÅSTRAND’S DESIGN THOUGHTS: One of our largest and most vehicle-friendly map, Operation Firestorm is the classic Battlefield gameplay taken to the extremes. Size-wise, and with some puzzle skills, you could actually place three Atacama Deserts -- one of the largest maps from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 -- within the playable area of Operation Firestorm. This is a wide-open desert map where the burning oil fields in one direction are contrasted by clear blue sky in the other direction. Construction sites dotting the area bring interesting possibilities for infantry to hide in elevated positions, spot vehicles, and take them down by mortar or RPG.

    OperationMetro_2D00_2_2D00_1280.jpg

    WORKING TITLE> METRO

    DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP015

    SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL

BRIEF> INFANTRY FOCUSED COMBAT IN SUBWAY

FICTION> HEAVY FIGHTING IS EXPECTED AS U.S. FORCES PUSH TO SECURE THE FINANCIAL DISTRICT IN CENTRAL PARIS. RUSSIAN ANTI-AIR EMPLACEMENTS IN CHARDONNAY PARK ARE LIKELY TO BE THE FIRST TARGET.

NIKLAS ÅSTRAND’S DESIGN THOUGHTS: Operation Métro is the map from E3 and the Open Beta, so some of you are familiar with it already. It is a map that perfectly illustrates that we want to take our players on a journey. Especially in Rush, you can see how Operation Métro is almost three maps within one: You start out in a lush park, then move into a bombed-out section of the subway tunnels, to finally emerge in a dense urban environment outside the Paris stock exchange. It’s a map that asks you to constantly adapt your class and load out for the diverse situations you will find yourself in.

    WORKING TITLE> HIGHWAY

    DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP003

    SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL

BRIEF> INFANTRY FIGHTING IN TIGHT CITY STREETS

FICTION> A FIGHT FOR CONTROL OF ACCESS ROUTES NEAR TEHRAN. U.S. FORCES MAKE A PUSH FROM THE HILLS UNDER COVER OF DARKNESS WHILE RUSSIANS HAVE SET UP DEFENSIVE POSITIONS ALONG THE MAIN ENTRANCE POINTS.

NIKLAS ÅSTRAND’S DESIGN THOUGHTS: One of the inspirations for this map was a photo of a night time skyline of Tehran which now is basically the same vista that is available in the game. You start up on the hills above the city outskirts and eventually work your way into town. This atmospheric night-time map, where you can see rockets lighting up the sky, has a balanced mix between vehicle and infantry focus. It plays length-wise and starts semi-open with plenty of room for vehicles, but ends on a much more urban and tight note with less focus on vehicles and more on infantry.

    DamavandPeak_2D00_3_2D00_1280.jpg

    WORKING TITLE> BASEJUMP

    DICE INTERNAL DESIGNATION> MP013

    SUPPORTED GAME MODES> ALL

    BRIEF> FIGHTING IN WINTER MOUNTAINS

FICTION> A RUGGED MOUNTAIN AREA PLAYS A MAJOR ROLE IN DECIDING WHETHER RUSSIAN OR U.S. TROOPS ARE SUCCESSFUL IN COMBAT OPERATIONS IN THE SECTOR, AS THE AREA IS HOME TO KEY RADAR INSTALLATIONS.

NIKLAS ÅSTRAND’S DESIGN THOUGHTS: Damavand Peak, internally known as Base Jump, is built on the idea that we want players to be able to base jump, and features our most extreme height differences ever in a Battlefield map. Attackers in Rush and Squad Rush will start high up on a mountain ridge above a mining facility. The only way down into the valley is to somehow make the 500 meter descent. The further the attackers progress in the map, the more vehicle warfare will be present. There is also a large tunnel section dug into the mountain side at the bottom of the map, and the view when you look up at the starting location is spectacular.

Come back tomorrow for the rest of the maps!

I personally cant wait to get my hands on Damavand Peak and Tehran Highway. Both seem neat.

  9. Of course you cant bail out when the jet is destroyed, you're dead when that happens? And yes the regen is good idea, exept one Stinger missile will disable the jet, which will cause it to burn and explode in the end. Because of this I would support the idea of at least "un-disabling" the jet when flown above friendly airfield.

It needs 2 stinger misilles (one does about 45% dmg). Also Clavus did refer to part where jets HP is 0%, but it's still "flying", when you cant bail out.

One Stinger missile did 50% damage in beta and disabled the jet. I want a source where it says that it will do only 45% in full game.

  10. A10's and Frogfoot's can't destroy tanks, only immobilize them or disarm them.

The gatling guns aren't their only weapons. Enough explosive ordnance on one of those planes to blow up a whole mall full of kitten orphanages.

Well if one strafe run seems to immobilize them, the logical thing to expect would be that another strafe run would destroy them, am I right?

In the video, at 0:55, you can clearly see him destroying a tank with one strafe run.

  11. E: In my opinion it kinda sucks that you can disable jets and you cant even repair the jet by flying over a friendly airfield = the jet is doomed to die? And it courages pilots to bail out so no kill either. Positive thing is that at least you get the 100 points.

    Opinions?

You can't bail out once the jet is destroyed, only when it's disabled (which is fair enough). The jets also have the auto-regen system like the other vehicles (damage above 50% or something starts regenerating after a short while).

DICE doesn't want to force players to retreat to specific spots (like the airfield), which isn't a bad decision.

  12. The jets were really fun to fly with but it was so frustrating that you couldnt do damage to any other than other air vehicles. I can only imagine how awesome and OP the jets will become after unlocking flares and missiles <3

Also, fucking awesome when you can land your jet and let a friendly engineer repair it.

If the enemy team has no stingers(or lacks brains to use them) you cant fucking die in the jet (this is a good thing).

  13. I'm sorry but I don't notice a whole lot of difference between how Bad Company 2 looks and Battlefield 3 and don't come with your bullshit about how battlefield 2 is different from battlefield 3.

There is a 6 year gap between those 2 they'd be fucking retarded to use the same engine.

And it's not because you can't be asked to find out how the looks of Call of duty have changed over 4 years that they haven't.

Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 dont look so different, and I havent said that they do. But you must admit there's a difference when comparing two games released in 2010 - 2011 and 2007 - 2011. Also, how is Battlefield 3 NOT different from Battlefield 2?

I didnt understand the last sentence so I cant answer to it.

Well what kind of upgrades have they done to the new engine? New graphics? Noup. New physics? Noup. Anything that you can notice while playing?

Sure they say it runs smoother but I'd say that you cant see the difference.

How can you even comment when you haven't played it yet? The only game you can really comment on is BF3's beta, which to me, was boring and bland gameplay. Where-as the visuals and sounds were nice.

Edit: bare in mind I'm commentating from a console's perspective as I have given up on all PC FPS's due to inevitable release of hacks that are way too freely available.

Yea, we'll see. Judging by the videos(yea yea videos tell nothing) it still has the 2D explosions and shit.

  14. Well what kind of upgrades have they done to the new engine? New graphics? Noup. New physics? Noup. Anything that you can notice while playing?

  15. The problem is that these games can be awesome games, they're not in my urge-to-buy- list.

Battlefield 3 looked really good, but I realised that I probably won't buy it, because my pc isn't powerful enough, and from what I've seen/read the game looks poor/cheap on consoles.

If by any chance the console version is "fixed" then I'll buy it

    http://battlefieldo.com/hd-pictures-2nd-disk-xbox/

"The Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 will let user’s stream higher resolution textures by installing content found on the game’s second disc, DICE has revealed.” There’s a voluntary install on the 360,” said Battlefield 3 producer Patrick Liu speaking to GamerZines yesterday. We’re pushing that technology to the limit, and compared to our competitors, I would argue that we’re the best looking game.”

According to Liu, the game’s single-player, co-op and multiplayer are also split up between the two discs, although he wouldn’t confirm which modes are present on which disc. It’s not yet known whether the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 will also include the same hi-res textures on the Blu-ray disc."

I mean it looks great, but really? Why did CoD became so popular then?

Really, in your opinion MW3 looks great? Take a look at the graphics of MW1, see a difference? I didnt think so.

CoD became popular because Call of Duty 1, 2 and MW1 were absolutely great games, even I still play CoD2 and MW1. Every Call of Duty has been the same after MW1.

  16. of course my mousepad isnt large enough to make that roll...

Every self-respecting jet- and chopper pilot uses a joystick.

So is this game worth buying? Or shall I leave it till its gone down in price a bit?

Dont pre-order at least. Wait for the game to be released to see what they have fixed and what not.
