A couple of the factions have been bypassing it, don't want to give everyone the details but it's pretty straight forward for larger factions. They're the same guys you saw (and will always see) at the beginning of the map in full diamond. It's good when you do kill them though, cause free diamond loots for you

If they're never online they'll eventually rot away from inactivity power decay. We're in pretty much the same spot, sucks.

There was no backup as I understand it, with the server being so fresh. The way to get it back? Reform, reclaim, and destroy anyone that over claimed you. It does honestly suck. We've only just managed to get our land back cause of power, but we can't get our portal back. The annoying thing is the people raiding, not exactly fair to those who were offline but, there's nothing to do

The faction data was corrupted last night due to a power cut at the data center - everyone's faction was disbanded. Including Rangers.

Hey dude, The worlds run a lot longer now that we've upgraded - before it was being reset every month or so to keep up with all the updates to the client. Whilst it can be annoying to lose all that you've got, a map refresh does a lot for the server and if you set up base within the first 48 hours, you'll be in a better position to rule the server. Give it a week or so and we'll more than likely have more stuff than we have need for, so give me a shout and I'll give you out some building mats and such.

Oh and Ooga, we can take any faction we want (that have sensible power ratios). The only things that factor into it are patience and availability. We have so much stuff it's unreal. You can ask around I just give the stuff I raid away now. We have been playing since the start of the map. And by playing I mean playing. When we're online we're raiding, not talking about how long our epeens are and how many people we've killed. We don't have that many netherwarts. Which is why I've only listed a max of half stack. They were the subject of some heavy duping though - so if you were the only ones with warts; it says a lot.

Diamond: 10 Gold: 5 Iron: 2 Coal: 1 Netherwarts(1): 15 Netherwarts(32): 450 Ally(per map): 10,000 - We won't attack you, we will come to your aid when you are attacked, and crush anyone you tell us to (except other allies). Neutral(per map):5000 We won't attack you. Assassination(Because I've seen it requested): 1000 - We destroy a faction for you. Must meet the following criteria: Not one of our allies (f who Rangers) A power threshold of no more than 40, ie: 40/80/80 (There are factions with 50 members, who have max 1 or 2 people online at a time. It simply isn't possible to claim these people.) Cease-fire 250: We will stop any current attack, and not attack you for a minimum of 48 hours.

For the few that would like it, there would be two who hated it and another guy who doesn't care. It seems like an extra imposition or rule to a game that provides neither of them. Plus, it's usually pretty obvious what the expletive was given the context, meaning that its still essentially there. Just a little harder to read.

Shitty ping, communication from the server and your connection stopping for >5 seconds (Either CPU bottleneck or dodgy internet), server crash.

The fearsome Bongo_Ben did indeed pwn me off the edge of your base. I think I've died about 4 times on this map at the hands of others. Two were at the death of Left4Green when we had iron gear. The third was at the hands of Zombitch et al., in that giant ass crater during the lag-spawn-battle-fuck of March. The fourth is the one bomb K.O from Ben. I don't even use potions for offense. I use speed potions to get to spawn and take the teleporters, instant health and fire resistance. People sit and tell me I hack because they're shitty poison splashes only take off a half heart a time or their splash damage plain miss from lag. I used to use potions, but the lag makes them ineffective in anything but >30/125 conditions. I only really know of one faction I've been in combat with that seemed to know what they were doing. And that's LRG. It was 4 on 1 so butt rape-age is to be expected. But they at least seemed to know what they were doing in terms of tactics. I wont sit and spell it out, but my system for having the edge on people in battle is stupidly simple. The /chest perk is an absolute godsend as well. Just revise your tactics, stop wasting resources on shitty splash potions (I've actually had people using splash healing potions in combat. Healing me to full health when they otherwise would have had a chance of killing me). And maybe you'll stand a chance. In terms of who's the most feared - It's kind of a moot point. There are so many factions now, from different time zones. I'm sure there are some great American factions I never see or get into battles with just because we're on at different times. Most of the slightly more competent factions have active community members in them though, and are regulars. At the end of the day, the game requires logic, time investment and patience. Skill composes maybe 10% of what actually counts in 90% of battles.

Just out of interest, what did you do to fix it? It could help someone else coming by with the same trouble.

You wouldn't raid aFaction because you can kick the shit out of spiders? Watch out guys, we got a badass over here.

On paper it looks good, suppose its a matter of how hard it is to implement and any compatibility issues, and I suppose the only way to check is to try it.

I've somewhat fixed it by placing a block where you want your spawn to be. Jump on top, and then set your home there. Then knock out the block. It's still dodgy sometimes but it's a lot better Try to give your self at least 4 blocks headroom too.

I quite like the bottom two layers. It looks kind of 'oriental-pagoda-ish'. It looks better than a water cube and at least it gives people a challenge to cannon you. Better than Rangers' base this map; thing's a god damn eyesore.

Require participants to /kill them selves to gain entry to ensure no one has fire protection potions or enchanted tools in their inventory. If one guy swallows a fire protection potion he can sit in the lava knocking out blocks below. And I have a pretty damn decent spade that cuts through dirt and snow faster than creative mode.

Of note are the command match changing, so I'm guessing /killstreak will no longer work (to the joy of the guy that complained about it). Hopefully as this is a 'full' pre release, bukkit and other plug ins will have their updates ready a bit sooner.

Yeah, with the X-Ray plugin going self aware it seems to be pretty damn alright. Now if only we could ban those pesky Mini-Map users, damn them!

Optifine has the zoom function which has helped me out loads spotting what armour people are wearing etc. I suppose you could sit and discuss the pros and cons of using mods like the mini map. But at the end of the day, how would you know or stop someone from doing so?

I have a super modded client that adds a new in game item called Ender Pearls. Basically they drop from Endermen and allow you to jump like they can. So yeah I got this super modded client then I got some pearls and threw them at your super secure ladder. It was super secure btw. Then I climbed aforementioned ladder to the top. I then began spamming right click to attack through your trap door. At which point I guess one of you attacked back cause it opened and I went through it. I then used a mixture of MMA and zen like powers to pwn you, reducing your power to the negatives and claimed your base. If you want this super modded client, simply load up your current minecraft version and click 'update'. You too can teleport like the hackers! tldr: Enderpearls, f claim, l33t skillz.
