You can't bail out once the jet is destroyed, only when it's disabled (which is fair enough). The jets also have the auto-regen system like the other vehicles (damage above 50% or something starts regenerating after a short while). DICE doesn't want to force players to retreat to specific spots (like the airfield), which isn't a bad decision.

Can't wait for the full game. The Beta (or actually, Caspian Border) made me so hyped. It's totally my kind of shooter.

Problem is that there are VERY few quality arena maps and it usually makes people bail out of the server. Turning on mapvote will probably end up in a mapcycle of 24/7 arena_badlands and arena_ravine. But we could give it a try, IF we can find several good maps. So start making some suggestions.

The contest ended over an hour ago. Trying to render a cartograph but seem to be having some issues, we'll see if it works. I'll upload the contest map soon (EDIT: done.) I'll try to judge all entries the coming week, after which I'll announce the winners.

BF3 is the better team game though.I remember planting mines on NECRO's flying MAV thingie. Then he went and flew it against a tank at the other side of the map. It was beautiful. Open maps like Caspian Border allow for a lot of experimenting and messing around.

You can't tell people to stop having fun. There are plenty millions of people that are going to buy MW3 when it comes out and don't expect it to be any more than it is. But I just don't find it worth the money. My time is better spend in BF3.

Battlefield is qualitative a superior product. Been in development for over 3 years, while a CoD game gets shit out every year to milk the fanbase. The success of CoD is mainly centered around the success of the first Modern Warfare game, which hit a sweet spot with the masses (and well deserved, CoD4: MW was a beautiful game). But then Activision started milking the fuck out of the franchise. Now you have to shell out full price (with no price drop for the game for over a year) for a game that barely tries to innovate or evolve anywhere in its formula. And lets not get started about the DLC. Battlefield 3 is a more complex game, plus requires some tactical thinking to be good at it. With what Operation Metro showed and the weapon modding feature, it's a clear sign that DICE is trying to improve on the points where CoD normally outclassed Battlefield (which is gunplay). I'd love to play the MW3 singleplayer, the multiplayer just isn't my thing, but I don't want to pay full price for it. It's just not worth it. What about it is overrated? It's not going to be the best game ever but it's most certainly a great marriage between BF2's scale and BC2's cinematic battles. Which is what I was expecting at least.

On huge open maps like Caspian Border, it's all the more easy and effective. And incredibly fun. Plus the Support class has the C4 so you can immediately replenish with ammo packs

Corby hasn't been on for some time now. I'll just go ahead and unban aancolin. If Corby has objections, he can make them later and we will take action (or not) based on that.

Apparently. And something called the Ender Realm. And a huge amount of enchantment options (fire proof armor is one of the things I read). Should spice up Faction Wars a bit too. After the contest we'll go back to our previous survival map. We'll start a new map when 1.9 is released. I'll probably increase the world border even further then, and allow for more power per player.
