Game Explanations-

Climb: A large number of blocks must be jumped to in a set order before reaching the end. Best of 3, 3 maps will be used.
Cowboys VS. Indians: CT gets dualies. T gets AWP. Objectives are allowed. Best of 5. 5 maps will be played.
Mini-Games: Best of 3. Games played will be Gun Toss, Shot-for-Shot, and Sudden Death Machine Guns
Arms Race (to knife): First to knife level wins. 1 round. Winner takes all.


Matches will be hosted in random order. The first match will be hosted tomorrow night 8-9 pm London time.

Little something about your self and why you think you're fit to be admin: As it says in the topic way up there, this is really embarrassing! I feel really bad making a second application to replace my first, but with the severe drop in Infected Wars' popularity, I stopped seeing a reason to hold onto my admin application. That and how I don't enjoy Zombie Survival. Nothing against Mr Green, of course. It's just not my cup of tea.
But it was that one admin application that actually brought me in to be a contributing member of these forums. Not to fulfill my requirements to become an admin, thought it's likely that was a driving factor, but because this forum really did just seem fun!
I soon learned that Mr Green servers went beyond just two games in Garrysmod. Not even one week later I joined Discord in the Minecraft faction wars server alongside Box. I only got a taste of how fun the server really could be, though (even if I did have some higher tier stuff thanks to Discord being one of the more powerful factions).
Then came the competition for the creation of vs games. I buckled down and began production on a three different entries (one of which was with Quert). I was, once more, really enjoying Minecraft. So I stuck around.
With the most recent map, the guerrilla faction wars, I've been having a blast. I definitely intend to stay around for a very long time.
As for qualifications, I feel I have actually gained more since my last post.
I spent, with a friend of mine, a month running an extremely popular Survival Games server for Minecraft. The plugin we used broke, so it's going to be down for some time, but I digress. I spent most of my nights administrating the server as well as addressing individual complaints about the server itself. A few complaints were issued in my direction. But all were resolved peacefully through either an explanation of my actions, or through me having to alter the way I administrated in the first place!
I have, as I said in my previous thread, administrated many DarkRP Garrysmod servers among a plethora of other gamemodes. I do my best to be as fair an administrator as I can possibly be, doing as much as I can to resolve an issue peacefully.
Lastly, and I said this in the first thread but it's worth saying again, I take an extremely strong stance against hackers. Anyone who gains an unfair advantage on others, through any means, and knowingly removes their enjoyment from the game deserves zero mercy. Whether it be a fault or otherwise. Aside from hackers, exploiters, and "extreme" griefers I do my best to be lenient.
I, like many others who apply, hope to make the cut. Either way I'll be seeing you on the server!

For those of you who didn't know, I've made a first Meet Saxton Hale video with Garry's mod, which took me grosso modo 3 days.
For more than a week now, I've been reworking on this using the Source Film Maker and I wanted to share it with you (and tease a bit my work by the way ).
I've spent a huge amount of time on this, it's not perfect and it somehow looks "robotic" at times, but I like what I've done and I hope you'll enjoy this !

The quality isn't at its best, SFM was working fine, and I hoped I could get what I've seen with the preview, but the final product is slightly different from what I've expected.
You can notice a few "flickering" textures (due to the slight overuse of shadows/volumetric lights), but nothing really disturbing.
SFM caused me a few problems after compiling the video, and I couldn't completely fix them.

Little something about your self and why you think you're fit to be admin: Hey, my name's Matthew. I enjoy gaming a huge amounts, right up there with SCUBA diving. In fact, way back when, I would play pretty much nothing but Infected Wars. When the server went down two years ago I was seriously sad. Now that it's back up, however, I want to do my part in helping.
In the last few years I have administrated a number of servers. From small time DarkRP servers to SLAgaming, one of the biggest TTT servers at the time. Even now I help in administrating an upcoming basewars server and do a large amount of work for an RP server that a friend of mine owns. Along with that I have quite a bit of Admin time in Team Fortress 2 on a (now gone) server as well as some, though minor, administration time in Minecraft.
As an Admin I do my best to be reasonable and have, in many cases, ended arguments between players and admins so that we may find a reasonable solution. When taking a situation into account I try to alienate my own emotions, even if I was on the receiving end of the abuse. If I'm to be honest I do take a very strong stance against hackers. If I have very strong evidence that someone is hacking I will permanently ban them (after my time administrating different servers I have learned that prop killers, deathmatchers, and hackers will not change their ways no matter how long the ban time).
During the time the original Infected Wars was running I found myself on the IRC chat very often, the same will be true of the IRC in the new Infected Wars. The forums, however, I am new to. But unlike before I have stronger views on Infected Wars and its balance. Therefore you may see me posting soon about things I consider an issue.
I know you'll consider my administrator application fairly, but can only hope I succeed.

Yes, it is a cross. No, it does not have anything to do with christianity.
1. It looks nicer than any other option.
2. This was modeled with "medieval castle" in mind. They ALL had crosses.

The beginning of 2012? 23.
Today you are 21. I can understand your thought process, that age begets maturity and thus the higher the number the higher your chances. But I'm afraid maturity is something that you have to display, rather than something which is granted to you over time.
Without honesty in your application, it is unreasonable to expect people to come and be 100% behind you. That being said, I wish you luck and hope you learn from this.

I probably feel this way because of your comment on how the administrators chosen for the server are between 8 and 15. Do you actually know any of the admins? Have you met them? Do you even know how many there actually are? And are you even aware that this server is actually a faction wars server but is in a competition due to nobody wanting to wait with a stagnant map for the next update?
You're new here, you even said so yourself. So even requesting administrator when you've spent so little time on the server is self-righteous!
Furthermore, I find it unlikely that you're 31. It's not impossible, of course. But I've never met a Minecraft player older than 24, and I've been playing since a week after alpha's release.
And to continue though this is entering the realm of nitpicking, your post structure is horrible. Sentences are constantly cut off at random intervals and placed onto the line below.
And how, may I ask, does one spawn kill in a game where everyone is in creative mode?
The reason I'm so upset is because I know Mr. Green admins. They're not just some push-overs who got accepted on a snap decision. Each one is selected after months of consideration. Getting admin on this server is a huge privilege and responsibility. And for you to dare call any of the hard-working admins here irresponsible, abusive, and immature is almost unthinkable to me.

I was born February the 30th, 1848. The Nazi's had already taken over Santa's workshop and the southern hemisphere was under martian control. I distinctly remember the doctor bring me up and about the spank me. And the moment his white-gloved hand collided with my soft, whiter, tushie everything became clear!
I demanded that my doctor release me immediately. So shocked was he that he dropped me straight onto my head and cracked the ground. I pulled a pair of devilish black shade from the thin air and but them on tiny and adorable little head. It was at this moment that my life was forever changed. Martians, Nazi's, and even a few Nazi Martians burst through the door! I remember them taking aim and firing as I dived at the front one, a karate kick to the face. I didn't stop there, spinning my legs around me as I landed to trip up a few others in the doorway. I immediately back-flipped behind one of the few remaining men standing, breaking his neck effortlessly in the fall. I turned down the hall way, meeting eye to eye with my arch nemesis. His small, big headed, green frame stood straight in his brown tench coat-like uniform. His raven black hair parted at the middle and he stared at me from behind his toothbrush moustache with eye the size of rugby balls.
"Mawshian Hitwer..." I gasped
He fired a telekinetic burst, blasting me from my feet and out the window.
Fast-forward 6 years, to the French Revolution. Louis was there at the guillotine for heinous crimes against society. His wife's spendings on the cheaply manufactured goods of the mole squirrels being far too high for the populace. And that's not even mentioning their intergalactic policies with the space gingers! I know it sounds strange, but that's how things worked back then. But I digress.
I swooped in from the side in a desperate attempt to save the mortally-endangered monarch. But I failed once more as I watched my arch nemesis drop the guillotine on the one man that dared to oppose his regime.
Age fourteen, I met the love of my life. Never before had I thought so highly of another living being. We spent every day together, in each other's arms at every chance. It was a feeling greater than any I had ever felt before. I was born February the 30th, 1848. The Nazi's had already taken over Santa's workshop and the southern hemisphere was under martian control. I distinctly remember the doctor bring me up and about the spank me. And the moment his white-gloved hand collided with my soft, whiter, tushie everything became clear!
I demanded that my doctor release me immediately. So shocked was he that he dropped me straight onto my head and cracked the ground. I pulled a pair of devilish black shade from the thin air and but them on tiny and adorable little head. It was at this moment that my life was forever changed. Martians, Nazi's, and even a few Nazi Martians burst through the door! I remember them taking aim and firing as I dived at the front one, a karate kick to the face. I didn't stop there, spinning my legs around me as I landed to trip up a few others in the doorway. I immediately back-flipped behind one of the few remaining men standing, breaking his neck effortlessly in the fall. I turned down the hall way, meeting eye to eye with my arch nemesis. His small, big headed, green frame stood straight in his brown tench coat-like uniform. His raven black hair parted at the middle and he stared at me from behind his toothbrush moustache with eye the size of rugby balls.
"Mawshian Hitwer..." I gasped
He fired a telekinetic burst, blasting me from my feet and out the window.
Fast-forward 6 years, to the French Revolution. Louis was there at the guillotine for heinous crimes against society. His wife's spendings on the cheaply manufactured goods of the mole squirrels being far too high for the populace. And that's not even mentioning their intergalactic policies with the space gingers! I know it sounds strange, but that's how things worked back then. But I digress.
I swooped in from the side in a desperate attempt to save the mortally-endangered monarch. But I failed once more as I watched my arch nemesis drop the guillotine on the one man that dared to oppose his regime.
Age fourteen, I met the love of my life. Never before had I thought so highly of another living being. We spent every day together, in each other's arms at every chance. It was a feeling greater than any I had ever felt before. It was a glorious, harmonious relationship that no person doubted would last for less than an eternity!But one fateful day, as we kissed under the pale moonlight, her true form was revealed.
My arch-nemesis once more stood in front of me, laughing maniacally. I was devastated. I remember it so clearly, his stork-like walk as the evil beast made his way back to his flying saucer.

Well, I like to post the crap that I write, and what I wrote is another story. I feel very spammy making a new thread for each of these, but it wouldn't feel right to bunch them all into one thread :I
Anyway, here's my next short story. Another one I wrote on impulse.


Cacotopia



Out swung the tattered green shutters, letting the lifeless light dance its way in. Brick walls had long since began their steady crumbling decay. Three stories down, streets flooded with litter wound around the dilapidated estates. And through these decrepit pathways walked both man and woman, hair matted to their face with clothes that had long since become rags. The man looked down from his vantage point to see a few return his gaze with a frozen smile. Always smiling. Never frowning. Always happy. Never sad. With dulled eyes, worn from hardship and pain.


step followed step with a sense of purpose, each one following a path they had taken for time unknown. The man simply watched the world from above with a smile as solid and unmoving as those below. And with eyes with no more life than those below.


He looked up to see the mountain range as he did each morning. There it stood, caught behind a thin veil of polluted fog, holding the empty shells of once vibrant green trees. Grey stone clashed with blackened soil as the world itself rose up to scrape at the grey clouds. His gaze shifted downward as he looked at the lake which sat beneath the imposing uplifts of earth. Still and black. Black and still.


He followed the lake down to the reddened, sand-like wasteland that existed just outside the city. Not even tumbleweeds dared to cross it. A cry from below called his attention as he moved his gaze to its source. A man had fallen in the street, clutching a bloody arm. Within minutes a team of four men in blackened and brown gowns had made their way to him. They picked him up, a man to each limb, and carried him off. His screams of agony following.


The man breathed in deeply, holding the dead air in his lungs for what seemed to be forever. He opened his cracked lips, parched from the limited supply of water, and spoke in a voice as coarse as sandpaper. And with a smile wider than ever, he turned his gaze up to the smudge of light called the sun.


“It's perfect.”

I brought a whole lot of cookies.
And a gun to shoot anyone who doesn't get it, since that'd indicate their upbringing failed miserably.

Well, since this technically isn't an application as it's in the wrong section with the wrong format, I am free to speak my mind.
Who the hell do you think you are? I don't mean to get up in arms, but you over-indulged arrogance flows from your post so freely it's disgusting. I probably feel this way because of your comment on how the administrators chosen for the server are between 8 and 15. Do you actually know any of the admins? Have you met them? Do you even know how many there actually are? And are you even aware that this server is actually a faction wars server but is in a competition due to nobody wanting to wait with a stagnant map for the next update?
You're new here, you even said so yourself. So even requesting administrator when you've spent so little time on the server is self-righteous!
Furthermore, I find it unlikely that you're 31. It's not impossible, of course. But I've never met a Minecraft player older than 24, and I've been playing since a week after alpha's release.
And to continue though this is entering the realm of nitpicking, your post structure is horrible. Sentences are constantly cut off at random intervals and placed onto the line below.
And how, may I ask, does one spawn kill in a game where everyone is in creative mode?
The reason I'm so upset is because I know Mr. Green admins. They're not just some push-overs who got accepted on a snap decision. Each one is selected after months of consideration. Getting admin on this server is a huge privilege and responsibility. And for you to dare call any of the hard-working admins here irresponsible, abusive, and immature is almost unthinkable to me.

STEP 1. Find a good (flat) forest biome and claim as much land as possible

Step 2. Everyone starts to dig dig dig to bedrock. In the below picture you can see how we will dig down, and the green section represents ONE claimed chunk. While this seems like a big task, trust me, in a group as large as this it takes no time - especially when we get more resources and can have iron picks.

There will also be a group of 2 or 3 people who will manage a stock room from this stage (including creating tools and smelting resources) to keep things organised, and a group of 2 or 3 people to chop down all the trees, as we will need the wood!
Step 3. After we have gained a good amount of resources from the digging, we split the group up a bit more. This will be a group of people to carry on with digging + a group of people to put in levels to the holes we have dug (this will create TONS of floors for us to build things into, like mazes or challenges or whatever)

And a most importantly, a group of builders to start the wall. For this, we want 1 person to be leading the wall construction - so consider this the first chance to show off your 1337 building skills!
I want you to post below pictures of your wall design - which has to be made of stone and wood (any form). The design must be repeatable, 3D (not just a flat wall) and awsam, then when we get to this stage, the person with the best design will be in charge of the wall construction
