I don't like the idea of class specific weapon progression. It just ads unnecisary complexity into the game and wouldn't make much sense. I wouldn't mind if it was something you had to earn such as if zerk can get 20k melle kills it can unlock the katana and no other class can, or if suppot gets 20k smg kills it can have a class specific smg that it has a chance of getting at 15 kills.

I would however want to see the sugestion were you can put the weapon you want to keep at the top of the list and turn off earning specific weapon types e.g shotgun. Some people might prefer the AR2 or the Saw (i think that's what it is).

hmm perhaps advanced users could get these difrent kind of weapons... perhaps and upgrade? or level?

there could be difrent weapons made by difrent kind of people like another competion for weapon... made with weapon construction kit ofc...

Im planning a pretty big update at this thursday:

  • Added new rewarding system for each class (i'll post details later)
  • Supply crate no longer will give you weapons (only ammo and health)
  • Increased time for ammo regeneration
  • Sligtly increased time for supply spawn
  • Disabled random zombie spawm
  • Added new special weapon for berserker: Katana
  • Added new special weapon for medic: Crossbow
  • Added new special weapon for Commando: Combat Grenades
  • Decreased requirements for lvl 0-2 berserker
  • Tweaked requirements for lvl 2-4 berserker
  • 'Sliced' ammo count for weapons
  • Nerfed damage system
  • Tweaked first zombie's amount
  • Increased damage for Poison Zombie
  • Slightly decreased damage for Normal Zombie
  • Slightly increased delay between healing for poison zombie's aura
  • Re-Added Anti vent camp
  • Decreased walking speed for player if he is holding Pulse Rifle
  • Disabled shotguns for a while (does not affect Comeback and Last Man Stand upgrades)
  • Increased knockback effect for M3 again :/
  • Fixed small headcrab's bug (camera offset)
  • Tweaked rage for zombine
  • Slightly increased damage resistance for zombine

NECROSSIN, please don't make such huge changes without discussing them first.

We won't update the server with that SVN version.

Anti-camp meter is crap. Plus weapons should still be received by the supply crates. And the random zombie spawn thing won't be disabled either.

I don't say we'll never change it. But I didn't really see a thread about it here.

Edit: Yes, I know the random spawn points got a good and bad side, for example huge maps with one spawn that gets camped from a roof, but really small maps with one house and 2 rooms are not benefiting of that system.

By the way here is a current kills/rewards thingy for each class:

Medic:


  • 10 kills - Deagle, Five-Seven, Dual Elites
    15 kills - Glock, Magnum
    35 kills - SG553 rifle
    75 kills - Crossbow

Commando:


  • 5 kills - Glock, Deagle, Magnum
    20 kills - AUG, Galil, AK-47, M4A1
    35 kills - Famas
    45 kills - Combat Grenades
    75 kills - M249

Berserker:


  • 15 kills - Axe
    25 kills - Glock, Magnum
    35 kills - Crowbar
    55 kills - Katana
    75 kills - M249

Engineer:


  • 15 kills - Glock, Deagle, Dual Elites, Magnum
    35 kills - Pulse Rifle
    75 kills - M249
    (need to add one more rifle/smg)

Support:


  • 15 kills - Glock, Deagle, Five-Seven, Magnum
    25 kills - TMP, UMP, P90
    45 kills - MP5, HL2 Smg
    75 kills - M249

Shotguns will be added back later

P.S.: Dont forget that bullet damage is pretty big so its should be balanced with the amount of bullets

all i say to class based weapons is NO!

IMO it's a dreadful idea. I play zerk and with this idea i start with a plank and expected to get 25 point :o wil a plank to get a gun worth using. Really? i will be lucky to get 1 kill with a plank in the whole game let alone near the start and then i will only get t1 guns till 75 kills i mean seriously no. I like the weapon progression how it is.

The medic will also be pointless to play. Useless starter pistol, 10 kill to get a t1 postol then use that for another 5 kills for a t1.5 pistol then 10 kills later an assault rifle then no new wep until 75 points :o NO

and why would you need to put anti vent camping. The game is survival and if camping is how you survive then let it stay that way.

Like class based weapon system, zerk need a start pistol too

I would really like the zombie spawn area, because zombies spawn in your fucking CADES and rape your ass, maybe make the spawn area so that zombies have immortality on spawn area or something like that

Its not too hard to get 25 kills with melee... even im lvl 0

And medics are for helping ppl, not too much on attacking, other ppl must protect medics so they can survive

get 25 kills with a plank because he is also proposing that we dont get weps till late game from crate.

I just think that it will over complicate the game unnecicarily and it will be escpecialy difficult to get new players to join and stay. It will also see a masive rise in commandos because they get good weapons easyer than any other class and it will be the new medic. Probably not but thats my thoughts.
